Joey is a litigation partner at Claggett & Sykes Law Firm. Joey practices primarily in the areas of insurance bad faith and employment litigation representing insureds against insurance companies and employees against employers.. As a fourth generation Nevadan, Joey has deep and extensive ties to the state, and completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, where he earned a degree in accounting. I was born and raised in Las Vegas, so my roots here run deep. I spent my younger years traveling across Nevada hunting and fishing which gave me a greater connection to the land that makes up this beautiful a young age, I knew I wanted to serve my country and I joined the the Air Force shortly after taking the BAR exam in California. It wasn’t long before I was prosecuting my first case as a JAG lawyer. But the real test came for me when I was deployed to Iraq with Task Force 134 supporting Operation Iraqi Freedom. After four years active duty in the Air Force, I came home and started representing individuals in a number of different cases.

I was born and raised here in Southern Nevada. After high school I attended college at BYU and law school at the University of Denver. However, Nevada was always home. I have a beautiful wife and three beautiful children.  I love to take my family hiking, backpacking, and fishing (the kids love to cast).
