Katherine L. Provost, Esq. is a graduate of Montclair State University and Seton Hall University, School of Law. She is a member of the American Bar Association, Clark County Bar Association, and State Bar of Nevada. She is also a  member of the International Academy of Collaborative Professionals and Nevada Justice Association.  Since 2005, Ms. Provost has been an elected member of the Executive Council of the State Bar of Nevada, Family Law Section, presently serving as the Chair of this 300+ member section.. Ms.  Provost is a highly respected attorney in the Southern Nevada community and her interests are in the areas of military divorce, parentage issues, and the use of alternative dispute resolution in divorce when possible.  Ms. Provost regularly lectures state wide on family law topics including child support and child custody.  More recently Ms. Provost has begun handling parentage and domestic partnership cases.. Ms. Provost has practiced with The Dickerson Law Group for the last 10 years and enjoys working with a law firm dedicated to assisting people with understanding at their most difficult times in life. I grew up in the Las Vegas valley, where I attended public school and was raised in a blue collar family with parents who worked in the construction industry.  After high school, I attended BYU, and later graduated from UNLV with a degree in Business Administration.  After graduating from UNLV, I went to law school at the University of Denver, College of Law.  I have been married to a wonderful woman for 31 years.  We have four amazing children; three of whom have college degrees and one is getting ready to graduate and attend college.  We also have three dogsand a cat.  As a family, we are actively involved in our Church.  Throughout the years, I have coached youth soccer and football, and have been actively involved in Scouting with the Boy Scouts of America.. Being a good attorney is about personal experience.  I am in my 25th year of practicing law in the State of Nevada.  During that time, I have represented people in the Municipal Court, Justice Court, District Court, Family Court and the Nevada Supreme Court from all different backgrounds, races and ethnicities in the judicial system.  Moreover, I have judicial experience as I have served as an ARBITRATOR for the Eighth Judicial District Court for approximately 14 years, and have served as an ALTERNATE CHILD SUPPORT HEARING MASTER, and a SMALL CLAIMS COURT REFEREE.

I am a partner in the law firm of Solomon Dwiggins & Freer, Ltd., where I focus primarily on fiduciary matters, including probate, guardianship, trust and estate administration and related litigation.  I also negotiate and drafts premarital agreements and have a background in domestic relations law.  I routinely represent professional and private fiduciaries, banks, creditors and beneficiaries having successfully resolved disputes both in and out of court.  I assist trustees, personal representatives and guardians fulfill their legal obligations and find creative solutions to complex administrative matters in uncontested estate, trust and guardianship proceedings.  I also appear before the Probate and Guardianship Courts of the Nevada Eighth District Court.  I both prosecute and defend will and trust contests and litigate issues of undue influence, competency and breach of fiduciary duty.   I am an active member of the Probate and Trust Section of the Nevada State Bar having recently served on the committee responsible for revising the probate rules for the Eighth Judicial District Court. I am also a founding member of the LGBT Law Section for the Nevada State Bar. I currently serve on the Las Vegas Steering Committee for the Human Rights Campaign and on the Board of Directors for NevadaGIVES. I am also a graduate of the 2015 Class of the Las Vegas Metro Chamber of Commerce’s Leadership Las Vegas.
