Robert Kern has taken an active role in the Nevada Foreclosure Mediation program from its inception, from testifying at the Supreme Court hearings for drafting the Mediation Rules, to working to amend the rules to make Foreclosure Mediation a stronger program. John was born in New York City, where he lived until his family relocated to New Jersey shortly before junior high school.  Following high school, John attended college in Baltimore  at Loyola College in Maryland, now Loyola University in Maryland, where he earned a B.A. in Political Science in 1995.  John then attended law school at Seton Hall University School of Law, in New Jersey, where he obtained a J.D. in 1999.  After law school, John relocated to Las Vegas, where he served a judicial intership with the Hon. Ron Parraguirre in the Eighth Judicial District Court of Clark County.  John has been admitted to the State Bar of New Jersey since 1999, and the State Bar of Nevada since 2001.. For the past 12 years, John has devoted his career to litigation and trial work, which has included rather diverse areas of practice.  During that time, John has participated in over 20 jury and bench trials ranging from personal injury and insurance coverage disputes to contract and real estate matters, including eminent domain litigation.  John has further arbitrated hundreds of cases over that same period.  John has the distinction of obtaining one of the few known punitive damage awards against a escrow/title company that was operating illegally in Nevada..
