My passion has been assisting clients across the Commonwealth of Kentucky since 2011. I make myself personally available to each and every client regardless of their issue. I handle criminal and family law cases in nearly every county in Kentucky. In my free time, which I usually have little, I love scuba diving (I've been doing it for well over 25 years), the outdoors, playing with my son, and watching unhealthy amounts of television. My office is available to answer all of your legal questions. If your issue falls under an area of law that isn't my own, I have a wealth of contacts that I would be happy to suggest.

I have been practicing in the estate planning area since 1982. I have an undergraduate degree in accounting, so I have always been interested in the tax planning aspects of estate planning, as well as working with individuals. I have worked in virtually all phases of estate planning, including the preparation of comperehensive (and often complex) estate plans, including working with owners of closely held businesses, nonprofit organizations, professionals, and a great variety of interesting people. Each family situation presents unique opportunities (and often challenges) and I try to approach each client as if they were a member of my own family.. With the birth (adoption) of my two special needs children in the early 1990's, I became very interested in planning for special needs children. This work has enabled me to not only help my clients, but to also learn from them! Together we work to solve the individual special needs planning situation in order to maximize total resources available to the special needs individual. This includes maximimizing government benefits such as Social Security and Medicaid, arranging appropriate Trustee and advisory roles, identifying service-providers who may be able to help the individual in his or her special situation, providing for maximum flexibility for unforseen circumstances, etc. I prepare estate plans for clients with special needs loved ones (so called "third party" special needs trusts), as well "first party" special needs trusts for disabled individuals who may have received an unplanned inheritance, a lawuit settlement, etc. Without the use of a special needs trust, the disabled person may lose his or her benefits and we can avoid that outcome in the vast majority of cases.. My practice if very personalized and has brought me great personal and professional satisfaction for well over 30 years.

As someone who has been an accident victim and who has worked with insurance companies as a defense attorney in the past, Marti understands how people feel when they’ve suffered losses through no fault of their own, and she’s aware of the tactics insurers use to reduce the compensation those victims receive. The unique perspective created by her experiences drives Marti to ensure every client receives her undivided attention and dedicated pursuit of the full compensation they deserve for their injuries and also gives her the advantage of knowing how to anticipate and prepare for defense trial strategies. As an accomplished trial attorney with a formidable track record, Marti provides every client with compassionate, committed, and competent representation while working hard to maximize their recovery and restore their lives. Born and raised in the farm country around Bowling Green, Kentucky, Marti developed the self-determination and work ethic you’ll find in America’s rural families. She spent much of her youth in Louisville and chose to attend the University of Louisville for her undergraduate work and her law degree. Marti graduated magna cum laude from the University of Louisville and near the top of her class from the University of Louisville Louis D. Brandeis School of Law where she was a contributing author to the Journal of Family Law. She began her legal career at a large law firm that defended insurance companies before accepting a partnership at another Evansville firm, where she transitioned to helping seriously injured people fight for the compensation they needed. She considers it a blessing to be able to serve her clients by helping them recover physically, emotionally, and financially.. As a Certified Clinical Research Professional, Marti has extensive experience working with the development and approval of new drugs and medical devices. That expertise enhances her ability to help people who have suffered because of the unsafety or harmful effects of a particular medication or a piece of medical equipment..
