Davis obtained her Juris Doctor degree from Southwestern University, School of Law, cum laude, in Los Angeles, California and Bachelors of Arts from California State University, Los Angeles. Ms. Davis is licensed to practice law in North Carolina and California, including the United States District Court in California and North Carolina.. During Ms. Davis’ 23 years of practice, she has spent 20 years as an entrepreneur managing a private practice. Ms. Davis’ firm focuses on Probate, Estate Planning, Guardianship and Conservatorship law. Ms. Davis is currently managing the Law Office of Colette T. Davis, PLLC where she continues her focus on maintaining and preserving family wealth through estate planning, seniors’ rights, small business matters and bankruptcy relief.   In addition to managing her practice, she spends time giving back to her community by volunteering with the Mecklenburg Bar through various committees and with Crossroads Charter School as a Board member.  She is a former Board member of Girl Talk Foundation and currently serves on a committee for Girl Talk Foundation.  Ms. Davis also volunteered with Hospice Palliative Care, Charlotte Region for 5 years, previously served on the Executive Committee of the Probate Division of the Los Angeles County Bar Association, and Judicial Committee with Black Women Lawyers of Los Angeles.  In addition to her membership in the North Carolina and California State Bars, Ms. Davis is a member and participates in a number of other bar association in North Carolina and California.
