Steven leads the intellectual property contracting and licensing practice for the Seattle office. He assists clients in diverse industries with a wide range of intellectual property, contracting and licensing matters including: biotech, biomed, computer, consumer information, electronics, government, internet, online privacy, wholesale and retail foods, construction, entertainment, franchising and venture capital investments. Steven also brings to the Firm seven years’ experience as the Director of Research and Strategic Planning for Bozell Worldwide in Los Angeles, an international marketing and advertising agency headquartered in New York.

Mr. Fick's practice focuses on commercial litigation. Mr. Fick has defended a large number of cases ranging from personal injury and product liability to title/escrow. His litigation work includes representing manufacturers, developers, and companies in a wide variety of commercial disputes. Some of these matters include, but are not limited to: commercial career liability, product failure claims, roof/structural collapse, trade secret litigation, fire loss, title and escrow negligence, defect claims, toxic torts and personal injury. Mr. Fick has also assisted clients with commercial and residential real estate transactions, including condominium and multi–family development.. Prior to becoming a lawyer, Mr. Fick worked in the construction industry, real estate sale and development and the timber industry. Mr. Fick grew up on his family's livestock ranch near Eugene, Oregon where they raised pure bred cattle and champion cutting horses. While at the University of Oregon, Jim played football his freshman year. In his free time, Jim enjoys participating in a wide range of outdoor activities and spending time with his wife and three children on the family farm where they raise horses, goats, chickens turkeys and bees. They also have a few dogs and cats running about.

I have been in practice since 1971 representing injured persons and am admitted to the Bar in Washington and am a graduate of Whitman College and UW Law practice includes accident and injury litigation as well as medical and dental malpractice was selected as a Super Lawyer 2003-2006 by Law and Politics magazine.
