People often ask me how I can defend criminal for a living. My answer is always, as far back as I can remember I have always wanted to be a criminal defense attorney. I vividly remember as a child sneaking down after everyone had gone to bed to watch reruns of the original Perry Mason. I was awestruck that in every episonde Perry Mason would find the real culprit of the crime, most often not his client. He fought with such vigor and intellect, that I dreamed of growing up to be him. Most attorneys will tell you they became a lawyer beacuse they wanted to help others or to change the sytem. For me though, it was a desire to ensure justice was done and the right person was convicted, just like Perry Mason..
