I am one of a handful of Certified Family Law Specialists in the Stanislaus and San Joaquin area.  Family law is my favorite area of the law as I greatly enjoy the ability to help people navigate through the court process.  I know that I go to court every day but that my clients don't.  I understand that this process can be overwhelming and often, emotionally driven.  My job is to be certain that my clients understand best case scenarios and worst case scenarios so that they can make smart decisions that will positively benefit them in the long-run.  I am naturally honest, sometimes brutally honest.  I am a small-business owner, a wife, a mom and part of a blended family.  I love technology and I use it to maintain the best level of communication with my clients possible.  My clients are almost entirely referral based due to my reputation in this area as a strong advocate with a very specialized knowledge of family law and our local judges.

Lauren B. During law school, Kelly clerked for the Hon. Gerald F. Daltan, Juvenile and Domestic Relations District Court, Stafford County, Virginia. After law school, Kelly served as a Certified Children's Guardian ad Litem in Stafford County, VA and Fauquier County, VA. As a children's attorney, she was responsible for investigating claims of abuse and/or neglect of her minor clients and making recommendations to the court as to the child's "best interests." She aggressively advocated for the best interests of children who found themselves in the middle of contentious custody battles.  While working with families, it became obvious to her that one of the main problems plaguing most families in crisis was crushing consumer debt. As a result, when Kelly and her family moved home to California, she decided to include bankruptcy in her practice and help families and individuals not only deal with personal family issues, but also aid them in overcoming their financial difficulties. Kelly, her husband Lon, and their four children, love living in Oakdale, CA. In her spare time, she enjoys camping, fishing and soccer. Of course, she always cheers for all things San Diego State. I am a late arrival to the field of law. Following High School, I became employed as a baker while attempting to pursue a career in music. I was employed by Costco for over 20 years, and in that time, while keeping my love for music, I also entertained other hobbies. I received a black belt in Shudo-Kan karate from Master Ken Polite of Modesto, CA in 1990, a hobby I thoroughly enjoyed and one that helped me grow personally on many levels. I also became fascinated with guns and firearms related matters, such as ballistics and forensics, which has been helpful in the practice of criminal defense. Prior to attending law school I discovered a fascination with Astronomy through courses at Modesto Junior College with a truly wonderful professor, Dr. William Luebke. To simultaneously preserve a relationship with my wife of 27 years and maintain our family, provide for the household, and complete law school and ultimately pass the Bar exam, required hard work and persistence; these same traits drive me to do my best to become the most competent attorney I can, and to thereby better assist my clients.
