Patrick Costa is a graduate of Southern Illinois University School of Law. He began his career in private practice representing clients in a variety of areas including family, dissolution, criminal, and civil matters. He was later appointed as an Assistant Public Defender in Jefferson County, Illinois representing individuals in criminal and juvenile proceedings. He then joined the Office of the Jefferson County State’s Attorney as a felony prosecutor where he specialized in prosecuting violent crime and property offenses. During his time with the Public Defender and State’s Attorney offices, Patrick prosecuted or defended thousands of criminal cases including conducting several jury trials.

I have lived in Southern Illinois, since 1987.  Since I am a transplant from the Chicago area, I did not attend school here and am not familiar with the general gossip about people around town.  I find that a lot of clients prefer to have lawyers who are not already involved in either parties' business in some form or fashion..
