My passion to help people less fortunate than myself initially led me to law school.  Upon graduating from Penn, I went to work for the Legal Aid Society in Brooklyn, New York in the Criminal Defense Division.  I worked there for a number of years, until my husband's job required us to move.  I continued to work as a public defender for many years, in many states, and helped an innumerable number of clients with their criminal and family law cases.  Ultimately, when i had my second child, I left public interest law, and went into private practice.  I have been in private practice since 2002, and i continue to take on pro bono cases so that i can help those less fortunate.. When i am not practicing law, you can find me volunteering in my children's elementary, middle and high school, on the tennis court, or out running the streets of Newton and Boston.

Hindell Straus Grossman formed her own firm, Grossman & Associates, Ltd. in Newton, Massachusetts following her partnership in a Boston firm for 10 years.   She has experience in Probate, District and Superior courts and  has successfully negotiated, litigated and arbitrated for clients.  Several of her successes have been published in Massachusetts Lawyer’s Weekly and she has been featured in the Needham Tab, Boston Business Journal and the Boston Globe. Hindell has been a licensed attorney in Massachusetts since 1985.   The firm's Second Opinion Program allows those uncertain about their legal options approach to consult us and make more informed decisions.     Hindell has been active in both the business and Jewish communities.  She participated in the first international collaboration between the Boston Chamber of Commerce and the Montreal Board of Trade.  She was a regular speaker for the Canadian Consulate to Canadian business owners interested in doing business in Massachusetts; a lecturer for National Business Institute, Inc.; a panelist for the Small Business Administration; a speaker on business banking; and a panelist for the Boston Bar Association.. For many years Hindell has been co-President of B’nai B’rith Realty Unit, whose members include New England’s most distinguished real estate men and women.  She is a long-standing board member of Covenant House in Brighton, Massachusetts which provides affordable senior citizen housing.  Hindell is also a fundraiser, a donor to various causes and a Hospitality Host to families needing medical treatment. Hindell was raised in Rumson, New Jersey by parents in the retail clothing business. She attended Muhlenberg College and the University of Pennsylvania, and obtained her Juris Doctor from John Marshall Law School in Chicago in 1985.   Hindell lived in Newton for 14 years and presently lives in Brookline.   Her daughter, Ariel, graduated from the University of Connecticut in 2010 with a degree in Finance and is employed at Massachusetts General Hospital and enrolled in a Health Care MBA program at Boston University.  Her son, Micah, attends Loyola University in New Orleans where he studies Music Industry.
