Marcus was born in Weatherford, Oklahoma, in 1970 and has been a life-long resident of the state of Oklahoma. He attended school in Del City, Oklahoma, from kindergarten through high school. He graduated from Del City High School in 1988. Marcus attended the University of Notre Dame on a wrestling scholarship and graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration in 1992. He then attended the University of Oklahoma College of Law and graduated with a Juris Doctor in 1996.. Marcus was admitted to the Oklahoma Bar in 1997 and has been practicing personal injury and workers compensation law since that time in the state of Oklahoma.Marcus currently lives in Edmond, Oklahoma, with his wife and two sons.Marcus has been a coach of the Oklahoma Wresting Academy for 8 years. Jerry E. Shiles is a member of the Oklahoma City law firm of Parman & Easterday, with additional offices in Tulsa, Shawnee and Enid, Oklahoma; Kansas City, Missouri; and Overland Park, Kansas. His practice is concentrated in the areas of Elder Law and Medicaid, VA; Estate Planning, Probate and Trust Administration. He is a member of the Oklahoma County, Oklahoma, Nevada, and District of Columbia Bar Associations; the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys; the Oklahoma City Tax Lawyers Group; the Planned Giving Council of Oklahoma; the Oklahoma City Estate Planning Council; and the American Bar Association; and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Estate Planning Attorneys.  He is a member of the ABA's Operation Outreach, providing assistance to military personnel, a former member of the ABA Standing Committee on Legal Assistance to Military Personnel, and a certified VA advisor on matters involving the Department of Veterans Affairs.  He is admitted to practice before the United States Supreme Court; Federal District Courts; 9th, 10th and Federal Circuit Courts of Appeal; U.S. Tax Court; U.S. Court of Appeals for the Armed Forces; U.S. Court of Federal Claims, U.S. Court of Customs and Patent Appeals, and the U.S. Court of International Trade.  He is a recipient of the IRS Certificate of Recognition, Department of Defense Distinguished Civilian Service Award and Legion of Merit, and the ABA Distinguished Service Award.  He has been listed in Who’s Who in the Leadership of the United States, Who’s Who of American Lawyers, Who’s Who of Executives and Professionals, and in the Martindale-Hubbell Registry of Preeminent Lawyers.
