Michael T. Huguelet (“Mike”) is a native of Chicago’s Southwest Side and, like many of his contemporaries, is part of a large family. Mike is the oldest of 8 children, father of 5 and grandfather of 11. Family is everything.. After graduating from Brother Rice High School, Mike attended the University of Notre Dame and received a Bachelor of Business Administration, with a major in Accounting in 1976. He then received his Law degree from The John Marshall Law School in 1979, followed by a Master of Laws in Taxation (LLM) from The University of Miami (FL) in 1983.. Mike is licensed to practice law in both Illinois and Florida and, while maintaining his primary office in Illinois, continues to maintain professional relationships in Florida to service Illinois resident clients who also have a connection to the Sunshine State.. Coming from, and continuing in, a large family, Mike fully appreciates his clients’ desire to protect their hard earned legacies after they are gone, while at the same time, providing protection for their legacies during the rest of their lives, taking into account the issues of aging, health care and wealth management. Mike believes in a wholistic approach to Estate and Asset Protection Planning focusing not only on the individual needs of each client, but also the needs of their family and other loved ones. Mike believes there is no “one size fits all” estate and/or asset protection strategy and, as a result, takes the time to carefully listen to his clients concerns; and by doing so, Mike is able to tailor an estate and/or asset protection plan affording his clients comfort and security in the knowledge that they, and their family and loved ones, are cared for, and protected.
Christopher S. Fowler grew up in Greenville, South Carolina. Growing up, Chris never had any real exposure to the legal profession, as his parents were in the medical field. It was not until he took an introduction to business law while at Creighton University that he grew intrigued with the possibility of pursuing a career in the practice of law.. Upon graduating from the Creighton University School of Law, Chris moved to the Chicagoland area and began his career. For nearly ten years, Chris practiced with a medium sized firm in downtown Chicago concentrating in the areas of commercial litigation, mortgage foreclosure, banking law, probate and real estate. Chris gained valuable experience both inside and out of the courtroom which lends itself well to his ability to focus on the client’s goals without overlooking the details.. A couple of years ago, Chris had grown tired of the long commute downtown, and wanted to spend more time with his kids as they were getting older. He grew tired of missing out on their sporting events and activities after school. He decided to make the transition to join Michael to handle the probate and trust administration aspect of the law practice. This provided Chris a more personal relationship with his clients, as much of his prior work had been for large out of state banks. Chris enjoys the challenge of opening doors for his clients, which might have otherwise been considered locked. Chris focuses on serving individuals who seek to pay for nursing home or assisted living facility care for their loved ones without depleting the assets their loved ones have accumulated over a lifetime. He develops strategies for families seeking to afford the cost of care deserved by their loved ones, so that they may live comfortably with the peace of mind that they are leaving the items they have worked so hard to acquire over of lifetime, to the ones that mean most to them.
