Ms. Quinonez, while completing her last year of Law School, had the opportunity to serve as a judicial intern in the Felony Criminal Court. Nanette Cruz was born in Mayaguez, Puerto Rico. Nanette attended the University of Central Florida and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Legal Studies. A few years after graduating from UCF, Nanette worked as a litigation paralegal prior to attending law school. Nanette attended Florida A&M University College of Law and graduated cum laude with a Juris a student at FAMU, Nanette was involved with the Student Bar Association, the Hispanic American Law Student Association and was inducted to FAMU’s Law Review. Nanette was also awarded the Dean’s Top Performer Scholarship and was on the Dean’s List. After graduating from law school and admission to the Florida Bar, Nanette began practicing Personal Injury, Probate and Social Security Disability Claims and Federal Appeals. In 2016, Nanette was offered a partnership position at The Michael Reese Law Firm to continue her efforts of representing individuals who need disability benefits. Nanette also served as a Guardian ad Litem for the Orange County Legal Aid Society representing children in need and as an attorney advisor for Orange County Teen Court. In addition to practicing law, Nanette is very active in her community and church. Nanette was the Kindergarten Director at Whole Life Church from 2008-2019. Nanette served as a board member at Orlando Junior Academy, the school where one of her two daughters attended through 2018. Nanette also served in the Executive Committee and the Association Board of Trustees for the Florida Conference of Seventh Day Adventists for 6 years.
