He was admitted in 1997 on the Florida Bar. He belongs to the Orange County and American Bar Associations and The Association of Trial Lawyers of America. Lou Pendas has always sought to insure that his clients are cared for throughout the legal process. He believes that the foundation of client satisfaction is communication. It was his devotion to this principle early on that insured his firm’s success. Also, He has devoted a tremendous amount of his time and treasure to helping the most needy in the community.. He became an attorney once he realized there was a need to better serve those who are disadvantaged and have become victims of accidents. He personally witnessed many accident victims poorly represented which resulted in an inability to fully recover from the consequences of the accident. Often times their lives spiraling out of control because of the financial hardship suffered due to their inability to work. Many live check by check to pay and once they miss one paycheck everything falls apart. He felt he could help those victims get back on their feet and help them return to a prosperous life.. Recognizing the needs of the clients and understanding what they are going through helped him to be a better attorney. Also having represented insurance companies for many years and understanding the internal workings of those companies allows him the unique opportunity to obtain better results for my clients. And of course the experience that he received having practiced law for nearly 20 years is priceless in his efforts to better serve all his clients.

In 1983, immediately after having graduated Oak Ridge High School I passed the state examination and procured a Florida salesman's real estate license.  Early in 1986 I became licensed in Florida as a real estate broker.  The following year I graduated the University of Florida with a B.S.B.A. with a major concentration in Real Estate and Urban Analysis. After graduating from UF I became employed by Easley, McCaleb and Stallings as a Tax Representative.  At Easley, I represented commercial property owners to assure that their properties were being equitably assessed for county property tax purposes.  My territory included Hillsborough, Pinellas, Orange, Osceola, Seminole, and counties including Marion and North into and throughout the Florida Panhandle.  I also did work in Dade, Palm Beach and Broward Counties.  My work gave me opportunities to appear before the Value Adjustment Boards and present cases as to how properties were being overassessed and why the tax values should be lowered.  In the summer of 1989 I enrolled in law school at the Cumberland School of Law of Samford University in Birmingham, Alabama.  I did this because I was of the belief that a legal education would enable me to better represent my clients and help people in general.  In 1991 I finished law school and sat for and passed the Florida bar exam in February, 1992.  Since becoming a lawyer I have represented property owners both informally with the Property Appraiser's office, before Value Adjustment Boards and also by filing lawsuits in Circuit Court.  In early 1993 I became a member of the National, State and Local Boards of REALTORS.  In 1998 I became a Florida Bar Board Certified Specialist in Real Estate Law.  Continuously from 2005 through 2017 I have been appointed as Special Magistrate to the Value Adjustment Boards in Orange and/or Volusia Counties where I heard testimony and weighed evidence presented from Petitioners, experts and County Representatives prior to submitting a recommendation to the Value Adjustment Board for a final decision.  The issues would be addressed usually involved either entitltement to exemptions (Homestead Tax Exemption, etc.), property classifications (Agricultural), or SOH/Portability.. My practice is currently primarily limited to represenation of Buyers, representation of Sellers, performing real estate closings and the issuance of title insurance.. I would like to hear from you.  If I'm unable to help you with a particular matter I would be happy to help you find someone who could help.

I handle ALL criminal cases, no matter how large or small.. When I was a former prosecuting attorney I handled ALL felony and misdemeanor cases, from possession of drugs to murder.  As the Prosecutor/Assistant State Attorney for the Metropolitan Bureau of Investigation in Orlando, I handled cases involving organized crime, drugs and drug trafficking, wiretapping, racketeering, (RICO both criminal and civil), commercial sex and law enforcement intelligence.  Therefore I learned to meticulously analyze legal issues from every angle.   In private practice for over thirty years, I use everything I learned while working for the State to personally provide my clients with the highest professional, thorough, competent and quality legal representation throughout Central Florida in the defense of their criminal case(s).   As a smaller firm I can invest my time and energy into each case.  I meticulously analyze your legal issue from every angle to determine how best to resolve it. I focus on attaining my clients’ objectives and I handle your legal matter depending on your needs and goals.   I HANDLE ALL CASES MYSELF.. I am also a former U.S. Army Captain with one year of combat experience as an airmobile /infantry officer (Lieutenant), which taught me discipline, competence and to be a perfectionist under pressure that I apply to every client’s case in defending their rights.   I use my vast, varied and unique experience to determine how best to resolve an issue and help a client achieve their objective while protecting their rights and interests.

I am Board Certified by the Florida Bar in Criminal Trial Law. Under the Florida Bar, lawyers who hold a Board Certification in this law are identified as Specialist or Experts in the field of Criminal Trial Law.. With a Board Certification in Criminal Law, the Florida Bar recognizes the knowledge, specialty, and expertise that a Board Certified attorney has in the area of Criminal Trial Law.. I am a fighter who understands how attorneys on both sides of a criminal case think and work. Having practiced extensively in both criminal defense and prosecution, I understand how criminal cases are tried and the legal tactics both sides use.. After graduating from Stetson University in 2004, I attended Barry University School of Law in Orlando, Florida. While earning my license to practice law, I was an active member of the mock trial team, where I learned valuable skills in trial advocacy.. After graduating from Barry University School of Law and passing the Florida Bar, I worked for the Office of the State Attorney of Florida as assistant state attorney. While there, I prosecuted cases in the 9th Judicial Circuit of Florida, ranging from second-degree misdemeanors to first-degree felonies. I handled more than 30 jury trials and numerous adversarial hearings. I have also concluded thousands of prosecutions during my legal career.. I later joined an Orlando law firm as an associate managing its criminal defense division. I have worked solely to defend clients against criminal charges and probation violations. Fighting for my clients and their rights is immensely satisfying to me, and it is what I do best.
