Today's seniors step into a healthcare and financial system that is infinately more complex than any other generation of Americans has ever experienced.  I see it as my calling to help them get all the information that they need to set and adjust their financial and healthcare goals.. I concentrated in elder law nearly twenty years ago when I saw so many of my clients losing their life savings to nursing home care - all because they weren't aware of the benefits that were available to them such as Veterans Benefits for those who served during times of war.. As a second generation advocate for seniors,  I have helped older Americans and their families design Estate and Life Care Plans that assure that loved ones are taken care of while saving as much of their hard-earned money as possible. I have taken a great deal of time and effort to pull together a team of people who share his passion for helping seniors. Each member of my team has a special talent or expertise that helps clients accomplish their goals.. Every family deserves the right to control what happens to them and to their estate.  I see it as my duty and obligation to provide my community with information and education so that they can take advantage of every option that is available to them.

Nicholas E. Phillips is a Board Certified Civil Trial Advocate. Mr. Phillips heads the litigation department of Phillips & Mille Co., L.P.A.  He has practiced law for over thirty-five years.  He received his Bachelor of Arts from Kent State University in 1970 and his Juris Doctor from the University of Akron in 1973.  He has represented clients in civil and criminal jury trials and is actively engaged in managing the firm’s cases where litigation is possible or where matters require the litigation process to achieve final resolution.  Mr. Phillips is experienced in the following types of litigation: medical malpractrice, products liability, personal injury, automobile crashes, wrongful death cases, injuries to minors, victims of crimes, industrial injuries, commercial litigation, collection actions, corporate disputes, contract disputes, construction claims, adminsitrative agency claims and other similar advocarial proceedings.. He specializes in civil trial work.  Out of Ohio’s nearly 35,000 attorneys, slightly over 100 are certified by the National Board of Trial Advocacy, and the Ohio Supreme Court.  A regular speaker at lawyer’s Continuing Legal Education seminars, Mr. Phillips has spoken to local and national groups.. Mr. Phillips’ community involvement includes being the founding and current Director of the North Royalton Community Emergency Response Team, (CERT), 2003 through present, and is the Chairman of the Cuyahoga County Citizen’s Corps Council.  On Sunday evenings he hosts a Cleveland radio program, the Advocate on WHK, 1420 AM.  He is an active member of the North Royalton Lions Club, and the North Royalton Chamber of Commerce.  From 1984 to 1995 he served as an elected member of the North Royalton Board of Education.  Mr. Phillips served as the North Royalton Law Director from 1996 to 1997.  Mr. Phillips founded and served as a Volunteer Magistrate for the North Royalton Community Diversion Program, a program sponsored by the Cuyahoga County Common Pleas Court, Juvenile Division from 1998 through 2007.  Mr. Phillips is a retired Air Force Colonel and was the former Senior IMA Judge Advocate at Headquarters Air Force Reserve Command, Robbins  Air Force Base in Georgia.

I focus my practice on the unique needs of our senior population.   This focus includes the areas of elder law, Medicaid planning, wills, powers of attorney, advanced directives, probate, trusts, guardianship, and tax planning.  I am a member of the American Bar Association, Ohio Bar Association, Cleveland Bar Association, and the National Association of Elder Law Attorneys.  Further, I am accredited by the Veterans Association to give advice to our Veterans on benefits they may be entitled to.. I received my Bachelor of Arts Magna Cum Laude from Clemson University in 2000 and my Juris Doctor Magna Cum Laude from the University of Akron School of Law in 2007.  I am active in my community and church, serving on several boards and committees.  I reside in Copley, Ohio with my husband and son.

Erin C. Eurenius is delighted to help seniors, individuals with disabilities, and their families at West Side Elder Law. She was admitted to the Ohio Bar in 2015. She is certified as an Elder Law Attorney by the National Elder Law Foundation as a CELA®. The CELA® is accredited by both the American Bar Association and the Supreme Court of Ohio Commission on Certification of Attorneys as Specialists.. Her passion for elder law stems from her personal experiences with her grandmother, Helen. Erin’s grandmother helped to raise her while living with the family. Around the age of 84, Helen was diagnosed with dementia and a few short years later suffered from a stroke. Erin watched the repercussions of not planning ahead for these devastating occurrences in life. Erin went to doctor’s visits and hospital calls at 3 am and visited the nursing home. She saw the guardianship process firsthand. She understands the stress and anxiety that a family can be dealing with during these situations. Her goal while practicing law is to be a helping hand through the process, easing the tensions and fears that our clients and their families may be experiencing. She will work in the areas of estate planning, Medicaid, asset protection, Veterans benefit, and probate and trust administration.. Erin’s family experiences with her grandmother motivated her to attend law school. She obtained her Juris Doctor from Cleveland Marshall College of Law. Erin participated in the dual degree program and also has her Masters of Business Administration. Her previous professional career involves working in public and private accounting at the firms of PriceWaterhouse Coopers and RSM McGladrey. Her focus was on tax. Erin is a Certified Public Accountant having obtained her Bachelor of Business Administration with degrees in international business, finance, and accounting from Cleveland State University. She was part of the inaugural Honors Program at CSU and graduated Summa Cum Laude. She grew up in the Cleveland area and attended Padua Franciscan High School. Go, Bruins!. Erin has won awards for her work in elder law and estate planning including being named a Rising Star by Superlawyers for 2020, 2021, 2022. She also received the 25 under 35 Movers and Shakers award from The Cleveland Professional 20/30 Club.. Edward R. Jansen is a graduate of the Cleveland-Marshall College of Law. He was admitted to the practice of law in the State of Ohio in November of 2000.. Attorney Jansen has in Northeast Ohio courts for over 15 years. He has focused exclusively in the areas of domestic relations and family law, including dissolution, divorce, property division, child and spousal support, child custody, domestic violence, and similar juvenile court matters.. In 1984, he received his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration (B.S.B.A.) from John Carroll University, where he majored in accounting. In 1989, he received both his Master’s in Business Administration (M.B.A.) and his Juris Doctor (J.D.) degrees from Cleveland State University, where he concentrated in taxation, finance and business law.
