During his legal career, Steven has achieved a myriad of victories for his clients including several appellate wins. He is also responsible for drafting and ushering successful legislation such as Arizona’s law prohibiting for-profit commercial mugshot companies and Title 28 (Vehicular Code) reform legislation—both of which were signed into law by Arizona’s Governor. Steven has had a hand in groundbreaking criminal justice reform legislation including expungement legislation, criminal sentencing reform and the elimination of license suspensions for unpaid fines. In 2020, he received a Presidential Commendation from the Arizona Attorneys for Criminal Justice in recognition of his dedicated work at the legislature to improve the lives of Arizonans fighting for a second chance.. When not working, Steven enjoys spending time with his family and rooting on his daughter during her volleyball games.
