That is because I believe as a lawyer it is important to be a positive influence in my community. So my work doesn’t start with a lawsuit any more than it ends with a settlement or verdict.. Catastrophic personal injuries and wrongful death can impact the whole structure of a client’s life, not just finances. I have been practicing law for over 17 years and have been a criminal defense attorney for 14 years. I am licensed in Arizona, California, Colorado, Minnesota, and Utah. I have my Bachelor’s Degree and Master’s Degree in Psychology. I graduated with my Master’s from Northern Arizona University in 1998, worked for Northern Arizona Counsel of Governments (“NACOG”) for a year and then pursued my law degree at the University of Minnesota, where I graduated in 2004. I then returned to the State of Arizona, which I consider my home away from “home” (Colorado, where she was raised).. I always wanted to be an attorney since I can remember. I enjoy helping people, and I have the background to empathize with people, while at the same time being open and honest with clients about their situation. I am also persistent and aggressive with my representation and will do all I can to help people overcome their legal troubles.
I have been practicing injury law for over 30 years. I began my career and spent 10 years working in defense for the biggest insurance companies in the industry. I moved on to become Assistant Attorney General for the State of Arizona, working on complex highway litigation cases. In 2005 I realized my true passion was in representing those actually injured in accidents. I spent 4 years working with one of the largest injury firms in the valley until I opened my own practice in 2009.. My experience working in insurance defense and as the Assistant Attorney General for Arizona has given me an extremely unique set of skills to use for the benefit of my clients today. I believe in fighting aggressively and uncovering every detail for my clients to get them every cent of compensation they deserve.
I have been practicing in Phoenix since 1982, initially working exclusively for insurance companies - either defending their insureds in personal injury cases or defending the insurers themselves in coverage situations or against bad faith claims. After several years I took on a few plaintiffs and then, by word of mouth referrals from clients, my plaintiff's practice began to grow and eventually left little time for defense work. My practice is now split about equally.. My experience from both sides gives me a unique perspective, and one that I believe is very beneficial to clients. I have purposefully remained in a small firm so that your contact is either directly with me or another lawyer with no less than 7 years of experience - your case is not shuffled off to some new associate for "training" purposes.. We don't advertise, and we don't brag - we just work hard for our clients to get them everything they deserve.
I have been helping clients for over 30 years resolve their legal problems, often complex and difficult matters. I have extensive trial experience in both Arizona and Michigan at the federal and state level. I am a skilled negotiator and have been successful in settling many cases without the need for trial, saving the client both time and expense. I would be happy to consult with you about your legal problem. The initial consultation is free.

Currently, I hold law licenses in three states: New Mexico, Wisconsin and Arizona. I am also licensed to practice law in Federal District Court for the District of Arizona.Douglas Loefgren. After prosecution, I had the privilege of working for a very prestigious valley firm in the field of personal injury law. I also handle cases involving injuries from dog bites, premises liability claims, wrongful death claims, and the like. I am passionate about helping clients achieve their goals.. I have over 20 years of experience in law and business. My practice focuses on two areas: (1) helping injured people seek justice, and (2) business/real estate transactions. I have personal experience in both areas -- my first plaintiffs' personal injury case was my own, and I've owned several businesses. Having a broad range of experiences and skills helps me better understand client needs, as well as to find and obtain creative, common sense, pragmatic and successful solutions to client problems.. I see myself as a holistic lawyer. What I mean is that your legal situation is usually only one part of the puzzle, and there can be other things you have to consider. When looking for the best outcome, you can’t pretend the other pieces of the puzzle don’t exist.. In my "free time", I enjoy yoga, meditation, bicycling, tennis, scuba diving, travel and playing the piano.

I am a lawyer who represents victims of personal injuries with a focus on mass torts. My firm's principal office is in Phoenix, AZ and I represent clients throughout the United States. I am licensed in Arizona.. We offer representation on a contingent fee basis and we advance the out of pocket expenses of that litigation. I am a Criminal Law Specialist certified by the State Bar of Arizona and I have been practicing law for 30 years. I teach other attorneys how to challenge illegal searches. While some attorneys like to advertise that they are "former prosecutors," I am proud to say that I have NEVER been a prosecutor! I will be honest with you throughout my representation as to how your case is looking.. Graduated from Scottsdale Coronado High School , May 1966.. Admitted to Arizona State University September, 1966. Political Science Major-pre law. Obtained Bachelor of Arts Degree from Arizona State University in May, 1970.. June, 1970 Enlisted in Arizona Air National Guard, 161st Air Refuling Group, materials facilities specialist.. August 1970 Admitted to Arizona State University College of Law (now called Sandra Day O'Connor School of Law). Clerkship with Debus, Busy and Greene-1972. Internship with Arizona Attorney General's Office, Criminal Appeals Division. Internship with Hon. Paul LaPrade, Maricopa County Superior court Judge. 1973. Received Juris Doctorate Degree from ASU in September, 1973. Admitted to practice of law September, 1973. Assistant Phoenix City Prosecutor 1973-1977. Deputy Maricopa County Attorney 1977-81. Private practice 1981-present.. About to start my 43rd year of practicing law. Early in my career I was a government prosecutor, going into court every day on behalf of the State of Arizona against various types of misdemeamor defendants. After a few years there, I was hired by the Maricopa County Attnorney's office to prosecute felony cases. I did that for about three years before entering private practice. The time I spent as a prosecutor was invaluable. I learned all about judges, juries, and having to prove your case beyond a reasonable doubt. I was very fortunate in those days to work with some of the best trial lawyers and judges in Arizona. I was lead counsel in about 100 or so jury trials. I even got to appear in front of Hon. Sandra Day O'Connor when she was a trial judge in Maricopa County Superior Court. You could tell even then that she was destined for higher calling. For those of us who were fortunate enough to have known her at that level, it was no surprise that she was selected by Pres. Ronald Reagan to be the first woman on the US Supreme Court.. When I first entered private practice, I handled mostly Domestic Relations cases-divorce, child custody, etc. I also represented criminal defendants, misdemeanor, felony, DUI, etc. In addition I had my first experiences representing people who had been injured, or families who lost a loved one, due to the negligence of others.(commonly referred to as Personal Injury and Wrongful Death). Because I had been involved in so many prosecutions that focused on the harm done to the victim(s) of crime, it was an easy transition to representing the people and families who had been harmed by the negligence of others. So it seems like my entire career, in one form or another, I have tried to help balance the scales of justice on behalf of people harmed by a wrongdoer. In the past 20 years I have focused on personal injury, wrongful death and criminal defense, including many DUI's and traffic-related cases. I believe that being on both sides of these cases, as attorney for the victim and the accused, is of mutual benefit to my clients. Knowing how the "other side" works helps me on either side.. Although I worked initially in private practice with a group of four other lawyers, since 1983 I have been a sole practicioner, incorporating officially into William S. Chick, PC in 1984. I have maintained that business profile ever since.. I have practiced all over the State of Arizona, but primariliy in Maricopa County. As far as my personal approach to the practice of law, I always try to remember the sage advice of my grandfather who told me: "if you take care of your flock, your flock will take care of you". I try to treat every case, big or small, in a way that will exempify the best in the legal profession. I do my best to give each and every client a dedicated, diligent, and thoroughly professional representation. I have been blessed with excellent paralegals and support staff over the years and look forward to many more opportunites to be of service to my clients. .
