Jennifer attended the University of Oregon School of Law. During law school, she volunteered with organizations that assisted underserved populations, including Lane County Legal Aid, the Victim Rights Law Center, and was a family law attorney with The Commons, a local nonprofit. I started my career in the biotechnology sector, working directly with patients and physicians to develop new drug therapies. I managed clinical trials for the treatment of macular degeneration, cancer, hypertension, high cholesterol, and rare retinal disorders. I experienced first-hand the challenges of managing a medical practice and getting new drugs to market quickly and safely.. I then applied my scientific training to the energy sector, working for the Department of Energy during the day and attending law school in the evenings. I saw how some of the most interesting challenges played out across the region, such as integrating renewable energy sources into the grid, creating an energy imbalance market, and setting wholesale power and transmission rates..
