Purposeful:  Raised in a family of engineers, I am always looking for ways to make things work better.   This includes societal issues like working for justice for our children- freeing future generations from emotional or physical abuse, ensuring basics of food, housing, medicine and education and not saddling them with staggering debt.  It also includes making the legal system work better for my individual clients.. My practice is focused exclusively in Criminal Defense, and I defend people charged with crimes throughout the state of Minnesota.. I am a Minneapolis native and went to college at the University of Kansas prior to receiving my Juris Doctor from William Mitchell College of Law.

I work exclusively in litigation related mostly to conservatorships, guardianships, power-of-attorney proceedings, trust matters, will contests, exploitation of vulnerable adults, and other probate and elder law matters.

I am a Trial Lawyer.  I also have extensive experience with Appeals. I have a passion for high level critical thinking and will jump on an opportunity to argue a new legal theory or a matter of first impression.. Prior to attending law school, I obtained my Ph.D and taught as a professor at the college level. As an attorney, I taught law school courses as an adjunct professor.
