Growing up in Southern California, and spending a lot of time at the beach, I was frequently contacted by the police.  Whether I was pulled over in my car, or approached on the boardwalk in San Diego, police officers seemed to want to stop and ask me questions, fishing for evidence of criminal activity.. Fortunately, nothing ever became of those contacts.  However, it did leave me with a lasting impression of police officers, the amount of power they have over us, and how I felt when confronted by them.. I attended Loyola Law School in Los Angeles and was fortunate to receive a full tuition scholarship.  Courses involving criminal procedure, evidence, and constitutional rights immediately appealed to me.  I finished up law school, passed the bar in 1999, and began my career as a criminal defense attorney serving the Inland Empire, Los Angeles, Riverside, and Orange County areas.. Whether your case involves a misdemeanor DUI, or a violent strike felony, I will aggressively attact the prosecution's case in order to achieve the best possible results.  This is achieved by diligently handling your case; thoroughly reviewing your police report; contacting important witnesses; obtaining copies of video and audio statements/ and or surveillance tapes; researching case law that supports your position; and contacting the District Attorney's Office to discuss charges being dropped or reduced.  Ultimately, positive results come from hard work.

I believe a defense attorney is more capable of defending clients when that attorney has also been a prosecutor.  I have over 8 years of experience as a prosecutor, both while in the Army and while working for the Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office.  My experience as a prosecutor has helped me to look at both sides of the case and anticipate the problems that may arise on either side to help me defend my clients. Having tried these cases as a prosecutor, I already know what the prosecutors have been trained to do and this helps me to attack their cases more effectively.. I have always been a very thorough and detailed oriented individual. This means that I look under every stone to overturn any evidence that I can find to assist me in defending my clients.  My tenacity in locating this evidence will often result in turning the impossible and indefensible case into a very triable and strong case for my clients.  If there is a way to get my clients out of the mess that they find themselves in, I will find it..
