My law practice is concentrated in Family Law, but my firm also handles Personal Injury, Wills, Contracts, Bankruptcy, Commercial Transactions, Entertainment Law, and Civil Litigation with offices located at 310 Huntingdon Pike, Rockledge, PA 19046.  The firm is dedicated to preserving and protecting families.. I also offer diversified mediation and arbitration services through Maribeth Blessing, Mediation & Arbitration, L.L.C. to include resolving family, neighborhood, business and elder disputes.   I am an Advanced Practitioner with the Association of Conflict Resolution with training completed at the National Center For Mediation Education, a member of the Pennsylvania Council of Mediators, the Greater Delaware Valley Chapter of ACR, and the Association of Family and Conciliation Courts.  I am also affiliated with Divorce Done Right and was featured on the Channel 6, ABC nightly news and in the March, 2007 issue of Philadelphia Magazine, in the article, AThe Divorce   My arbitration training was received from the American Bar Association Section Of Family Law.. Additionally, I am past president of Collaborative Family Law Affiliates, and presently conduct yearly training sessions for other lawyers interested in resolving divorces without litigation.  I am a member of  Strathmore=s Who=s Who,  a life member of the National Registry of Who=s Who, and was awarded the 2003 Outstanding Service Award by Widener School of Law.. I often receive appointments from the Montgomery Bench as Arbitrator, Special Master and Guardian Ad Litem.  As a Child Advocate for MCAP and a volunteer with Legal Aide, I believe in giving back to the community on a pro bono basis.   As a member of the Pennsylvania Bar Association Family Law Section,  I was a former Council member and now serve as the Liaison between the PBA Family Law Committee and the PBA Children=s Rights Committee. I am also a member of the PBA Alternative Dispute Resolution Committee and its Collaborative Law Sub-committee.  With a background in teaching, I am also interested in continuing legal education and organizations promoting legal tutelage, and as such was also President of the Doris Jonas Freed American Inn of Court, now  serving as Counselor.  Additionally, I served as a member of the MBA Judiciary Committee,as well as a Director for the Montgomery Bar Association,  a member of the Montgomery County Bar Trial Lawyers Section and  former Chair of the Family Law Section, as well as a member of the Mediation Advisory Panel for Montgomery County.. I love children, boating, painting, golf, reading and my special dog, Loki Tyr, who is a service dog for my husband, and a member of my office family, and who serves as a comfort to my clients.  My family is everything to me, and I love being able to spoil my grandchildren.

Leona specializes in special education law and represents children and their families facing challenges under the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA), Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1972, and Title IX of the Education Amendments Act of 1972. She helps families to advocate for their children’s needs in special education, school discipline, gifted education, test taking, and other education matters in Pennsylvania and New Jersey, and steps in when it becomes necessary to do so.. She brings to her practice more than twenty years of experience pursuing legal excellence for her clients, complex commercial litigation experience in federal and state court, and a passionate devotion to public interest advocacy and social justice. Prior to joining our firm, Leona worked for seven years at a national law firm where she concentrated her practice on complex litigation in a wide range of matters including contract disputes, employment matters, consumer rights litigation and commercial litigation. Leona also previously represented tribal clients throughout the country.. Leona served as a law clerk to the Honorable R. Barclay Surrick of the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania. She received a J.D. from the University of Pennsylvania Law School in 2004 and graduated cum laude and Order of the Coif (top ten percent). Leona served as an editor of the University of Pennsylvania Law Review.. Prior to attending law school, Leona advocated on behalf of immigrants seeking political asylum and victims of discrimination for six years in Philadelphia and New York for the Anti-Defamation League, the New York Immigration Coalition and other advocacy groups.. Leona has three school-aged children and understands the challenges parents face when advocating for their children.
