Tim has been practicing civil litigation since 1987 throughout Northern California and the Central Valley. He is experienced in complex civil litigation and has litigated cases in the areas of business and commercial law, commercial lease disputes, business torts, unlawful competition, legal malpractice, personal injury, real estate, trust and probate litigation and fiduciary abuse. He has handled a variety of jury and bench trials in both state and federal courts, and his experience extends to appellate and writ proceedings in both federal and state courts of appeal. He is admitted to practice before the United States District Courts for the Northern, Eastern and Southern Districts of California, and before the United States Court of Appeals, Ninth Circuit.. My life outside of the law is consumed with my wife and seven children.  The oldest just graduated from high school and is now in Denmark for the next two years.  Since my interests are in hanging out with them, whatever interests they have naturally become my interests.  Lucky for me, they have good taste: soccer, running, rock climbing, kayaking, SUPs, hiking, slack-lining and family vacations.

I was admitted to the California Bar in 1999 and I advise families and individuals on estate planning matters, including wills, trusts, family partnerships, probate and estate administration matters, as well as trusts and  estate litigation.  I also consult with clients on all aspects of business and transaction law, with an emphasis on representing closely held business entities, including partnerships, corporations, and limited liability companies.. I received my Juris Doctorate from the University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law in 1999. I also trained in Tokyo, Japan as part of the Temple University International Law Program. While in Japan, I worked at a legal office where I refined my Japanese language skills and counseled foreign companies on how to establish their businesses in Japan. Prior to law school, I attended Brigham Young University and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in International Relations and a minor in Japanese.. I taught Business Law at Merced College from 2002 to 2007. I was also a registered securities representative, holding a Series 7 license from 2000 to 2002.. I have spoken to groups throughout California on the topics of estate planning and asset protection. I was also a featured panelist at the Asian American Hotel Owners national conference in Chicago, IL where I spoke on the topic of estate planning.. I am a member of the California Bar Association. I enjoy working and living in Granite Bay, California and attending my children’s sporting events and recitals. I also enjoy fly-fishing, golf, water sports, snow sports and travel.

As a father of four, I understand that parents will do all they can to provide for their family.  One part of my bankruptcy practice I really enjoy is that I help individuals and families regain their financial footing and secure hope for a better future.. Outside of my law practice I enjoy spending time with my family and serving in the community. I have been actively involved in the Boy Scouts of America, receiving my Eagle Scout Award as a young man, and having more recently served in adult leadership capacities. I have rendered pro bono legal services for the indigent and elderly with Legal Services of Northern California. I am actively involved in my church and teach a daily Bible study course to local high school students.
