I was born and raised in Cleveland, Ohio.  I graduated with Magna Cum Laude from nationally recognized Muskingum University in New Concord, Ohio with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business, Economics and Religion.  I then attended the prestigious Capital University Law School in Columbus, Ohio on an academic scholarship and was on the Dean's List.  Throughout law school I interned at the Franklin County Public Defenders' Office.. I have been an attorney for nearly 20 years and I have been licensed practice in 9 states, including California.  I demonstrated the ambition and grit to take and pass the bar exams in 6 states and waiving into 3 states.  I currently only have an active licensure in California and am inactive in the other states simply due to the administrative non-payment of bar dues.  In addition to California, throughout my tenure I have practiced in the states of Arizona, Utah, Nevada, Ohio, and Minnesota while representing national mortgage loan servicing companies.. I am admitted to practice in all of the Federal District Courts in California, the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals, and the United States Supreme Court.. I have practiced at AV rated firms and with ABOTA certified trial lawyers my entire career.. I have represented major corporations, insurance companies, and businesses, defending personal injury cases, medical malpractice suits, amusement park accidents, slip and falls, product liability, vehicle accidents and other similar cases.. I have successfully represented numerous individuals and/or businesses in personal injury cases, amusement park defense, medical malpractice defense, family, divorce, custody and support cases, probate and estate planning and criminal defense cases.. I am a devoted husband, father and grandfather.  My family is the highest priority to me which makes me extremely sympathetic to my clients who have been injured in an accident and cannot work to provide for their families or the client who has been falsely accused of a crime because they were in the wrong place at the wrong time and now are in jail away from their family.  I work hard and passionately to resolve these cases quickly to reunite families and provide them with the best possible outcome.. Similarly, it breaks my heart to see a family torn apart in a divorce and the situation made worse by attorneys encouraging conflict rather than staying focused on resolution.  There are times when you must fight to protect the interest of your client and most importantly the innocent children involved but, staying focused on the solutions and trying to reach a swift resolution has less of a financial impact on a family and generally gets the entire family on the path to healing sooner.. Christopher Langley is an attorney admitted to practice in both California and Georgia. He was admitted to the California bar in 2008 and received his legal specialization in bankruptcy in 2017.. Born in Whittier and the second of seven children, Chris’s father worked in IT and systems administration for New Line Cinema and his mother was an English teacher turned stay-at-home mom. After High School, Chris spent six years in the seminary, first in Monterrey, Mexico doing outreach work, with the final two years in Rome, Italy where he graduated magna cum laude from Regina Apostolorum Pontifical Athenaeum with a bachelors in Philosophy and a minor in Art History. While in Rome, Chris also worked as a translator in the Vatican and was the personal assistant of Fr. Alvaro Corcuera, LC who at the time was rector of the Roman seminary.. After Rome, Chris moved to Orange County and began a career in Human Resources and Recruiting. His work in human resources ultimately led him to law school and he enrolled at Loyola Marymount Law School. Chris gravitated towards bankruptcy law and in his final year of law school he externed for Honorable Richard Nieter, a bankruptcy judge in the Central District of California, Los Angeles. Upon graduating, Chris started working at a mid-sized law firm in Costa Mesa where he primarily represented banks and major vehicle finance companies in bankruptcy.. Within a few years, Chris decided to hang his own shingle and established “The Langley Law Firm” based out of a small loft in Downtown Santa Ana. The firm quickly expanded and within a few years, Chris partnered up with Steven P. Chang forming “Langley & Chang.” In the fall of 2020, Steven and Chris partnered with Gene Shioda in order to create a full service law firm and established Shioda Langley & Chang. In July of 2021, SLC moved into their office in San Gabriel.. Chris married Lupe Garcia, a special needs public school teacher, in 2017 at the Santa Barbara Courthouse. They have two boys together, Tiago and Luca.
