I have specialized my practice to focus on pursuing the rights of those injured in the course of their jobs, through the negligence of others, and through the failure of large corporations to put the health of customers first. Communication is the key...when I take a case, I am your attorney. Not an associate. Not a secretary. Not an assistant. You get my cell phone number the first day we meet and I am available to you at all times. This is the advantage of a smaller firm...you get the personal attention that your case deserves.. I live and work in the Northwest Chicago suburbs, so I spend most of my non-working hours with my wife and our young daughter. But I do always try to keep some time open to catch a Cubs or Blackhawks game!
I have represented clients in cases involving serious state and federal charges and have been featured on WGN News, the Chicago Sun-Times, the Chicago Tribune, and numerous other publications. I have represented clients in several high profile cases, including a man involved in the Illinois Secretary of State driver's license scandal, a young man charged with a shooting of a 16 year old rival gang member on a Chicago street and who may have been framed by a corrupt Chicago Police Detective, a father charged with the murder of his 4 month old infant son in Will County, a Chicago Public School teacher charged with having sex with her underage students, a young man in DuPage County cleared of an alleged rape after a jury trial, a man charged with stabbing his former lover in the eyes numerous times and permanently blinding her, a man who was charged with being involved with the AK-47 shooting of a female friend and the subsequent attempt to dispose burn her body, as well as many other high profile cases throughout Illinois.. I began my career as a lawyer in 1992 when I began honing my legal skills with one of the area's most popular personal injury firms. Within a couple of months of becoming a lawyer, I was doing jury trials at the Daley Center, and taking on powerful insurance companies and their experienced and high priced lawyers.. I am licensed to practice in all Illinois state courts, the 7th Federal Circuit Court, and am a member of the Federal Trial Bar. I have appeared in Federal Courts as far away as Las Vegas, Nevada.. I am also a published author having written Chapter 1 of "Strategies for Defending Identity Theft Cases: Leading Lawyers on Understanding Identity Theft Crime, Preparing a Thorough Defense, and Managing Technological Evidence (Inside the Minds)," a book published by Thomson Reuters, that helps teach attorneys how to represent defendants charged with Identity Theft crimes. Before opening the Law Offices of Thomas Glasgow, Ltd. in Schaumburg, Illinois, our lead attorney, Thomas Glasgow was a Cook County State's Attorney who prosecuted cases ranging from DUI, to multi-kilo felony narcotic cases, to murder. From 1994 until 1998, he worked in the Traffic Division, the Narcotics Division, the Juvenile Division, and the Felony Review Division. In each of these positions he tried both misdemeanor and felony bench and jury cases, supervised other attorneys, interviewed defendants and witnesses, and helped prepare criminal cases for trial.. "I served as a State's Attorney because I wanted to help people. However, one of the reasons I decided to go into private practice was that I felt the criminal justice system can be a revolving door. I wasn't able to assist people on a one-on-one level. Through my criminal defense law practice, I have had the ability to change more people's lives than I could as a prosecutor. With two other experienced attorneys, we represent clients in all types of criminal and civil matters in both Illinois Federal and State Courts." -Thomas Glasgow. At the Law Offices of Thomas Glasgow, Ltd., we realize getting people on the right path toward becoming a good citizen is an important goal of our firm. In fact, we have numerous thank-you notes from former clients whose lives we have changed by winning their case.. In addition to criminal charges, we help people who need representation in the area of family law, including divorce proceedings and child support issues.
