I have practiced law since 1969. I started with a small general practice law firm. I then moved to the DA's office as an assistant DA where I tried hundreds of criminal cases. Then I was hired to run the first fulltime Public Defender's office (1976-1978). At the Public Defender's office I defended hundreds of people who were charged with a crime. I handled every kind of case from First Degree Murder to Misdemeanor traffic violations. In 1978 I ran for Caddo Parish District Attorney and was elected. I served as DA for 30 years which is five 6 year terms. Upon retirement I went into private practice and now limit my practice to criminal defense at the Law Office of Stroud, Carmouche & Buckle. I have a AV Preeminent Rating with Martindale-Hubbell. DWI/DUI and DRUG charges are the area where I spend most of my time.

I am a trial lawyer handling oil and gas and commercial and business disputes, substantial personal injury matters, and appeals in state and federal courts.. I received his undergraduate and law degrees at Louisiana State University Law Center, where I was a member of the Louisiana Law Review and the Order of the Coif, an honorary society of the top ten percent of each graduating class. After graduating, I was a law clerk to the Chief Justice of the Louisiana Supreme Court.. I was admitted to the Louisiana bar in 1995 and to the State Bar of Texas in 2001.
