I have been an attorney for over six years. I started my career as a Deputy Public Defender with the San Diego County Public Defender's Office. While at the Public Defender's Office, I handled thousands of cases ranging from low level misdemeanors to serious felony cases. I also had the fortunate opportunity to represent minors in delinquency matters. In short, I gained valuable trial experience which molded me into an agressive, knowledgeable and compassionate trial attorney. After a few years at the Public Defender's Office, I left and opened up my own legal practice. The trial skills I gained in my early career have allowed me to become a successful litigator in many areas of law including criminal defense, family law matters, and civil matters.. Founding attorney James F. Sexton originally represented insurance companies after earning his Juris Doctor from California Western School of Law. For ten years, James defended insurance companies against claims from people injured in serious automobile and workplace accidents. In 2001, James experienced a change of heart and decided his abilities were better used helping individuals and their families rather than working against them. He now exclusively devotes his firm and practice to helping Southern Californians. Much of his work is centered on helping clients navigate personal injury or workers’ compensation claims, where James leverages his previous experience working for the insurance companies to build effective cases.
