Having done her Masters Capstone project on the growing aging in place movement, Betsy served on the board for several years at the Center for Aging in Place (CAP) in Westchester County.  Working in the area of palliative care and end of life issues, she is also now on the Westchester End-of-Life Coalition’s (WELC)Advisory Board.  She is a member of the New York State Bar Association’s Elder Law Section and two of its committees, Elder Abuse and Disabilities.  She is also a member of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys (NAELA), serving on the NAELA/NY Legislative Committee.  In addition, she is co-chair of the Westchester County Bar Association’s Elder Law Committee and is a member of the Westchester Women’s Bar Association.  She has also recently been elected to the Scarborough Manor Board of Directors.. As an attorney, Betsy has practiced in the area of professional liability litigation, defending attorneys and accountants on claims of malpractice and was the co-author of a professional liability column for the New York Law Journal.   As a law librarian, she established and wrote the Notes from the Technology Trenches column for ..
