Prior to my law career, I obtained my nursing education at Columbia University in New York City. This exposure to many cultures and economic conditions gave me a broad understanding and empathy for people under stress. I became certified to represent children and parents in Care and Protection cases in the Juvenile Courts. When I learned of the large number of children who spend their childhood in DCF foster care, I became interested in representing Grandparents who want to obtain custody of their grandchildren and obtain either a Guardianship or Adoption. My prior nursing career has enabled me to communicate with social workers and assist my clients in resolving many issues. My preparation as an attorney has prepared to resolve issues which cannot be worked out to my client's satisfaction with DCF, in the courtroom.. Currently I am primarily focusing on REPRESENTING GRANDPARENTS who want to adopt or obtain a guardianship of their grandchildren who are in DCF custody. I have represented clients in Brockton, Plymouth County, Barnstable County, Taunton and Fall River so I am familiar with the DCF offices in those counties.
