Marisa grew up in Dutchess County, New York. She received her Bachelor of Arts Degree from The College of Saint Rose in Albany, New York; English major and a Criminal Justice minor. Marisa moved to Charlotte, North Carolina, where she earned her Juris Doctor Degree. Since, Marisa has been admitted to the North Carolina State Bar and practicing law in Iredell and surrounding counties since 2015. Marisa also volunteers her time as Judge and Attorney mentor with the Iredell County’s Teen Court Program and advises young adults who are litigating real cases in their community. When not at work Marisa enjoys riding horses, barrel racing, four wheeling, boating, all while spending time with family and friends.

I was born and raised in Iredell County and am a 1993 graduate of Oak Ridge Military Academy.  From there, I attended The Citadel, the military college of South Carolina earning his Bachelor of Arts in business administration in 1997.  I attended Cumberland School of Law, at Samford University, in Birmingham, Alabama where I received his Juris Doctorate in 2000. I have been a member of the North Carolina State Bar since 2001 and practiced law full time in the Iredell County and surrounding areas since 2001 joining the firm of Gottholm, Ralston and Benton, PLLC in 2014.  I practice primarily in the areas family law, child custody, child support, equitable distribution, divorce, criminal defense, traffic offenses and residential real estate transactions. I'm a member of the North Carolina Bar and Iredell County Bar, and serves in the Iredell County Indigent Defense Commottee. I have served as Chair of the Board of Directors for Stop Child Abuse Now, a local child abuse advocacy center, and as Vice President of the Rotary Club of Troutman, North Carolina.

Christina Clodfelter was raised in Statesville, NC, and is a graduate of Statesville High School. She received a B.A. degree in Political Science and English from the University of South Carolina in 2007. She then returned to North Carolina where she received her Juris Doctorate from the University of North Carolina School of Law. Ms. Clodfelter lives in Statesville and practices in the Statesville office. Ms. Clodfelter is excited to be practicing law in her hometown. She enjoys spending time with her family, who has strong ties to the Statesville community, and is an active South Carolina Gamecock fan.

After teaching in Gastonia, North Carolina, I decided to attend law school.  I graduated from the University Of South Carolina School Of Law in the spring of 2008.  My family and I relocated to my wife’s hometown of Statesville, North Carolina, where I enjoy many aspects of community involvement.  It is important to me to give back to the community I live in; therefore, I volunteer on many different boards including: United Way of Iredell County Board of Directors and Executive Committee, YMCA of Statesville – Local Board of Directors, Mitchell Community College Endowment Board, and the Civil Service Board.. I am a member of the Greater Statesville Rotary Club where I am a Paul Harris Member.   I attend church at First Presbyterian Church of Statesville and enjoy spending time with my children and family.  I am an avid Appalachian State University football fan and spend many Saturday afternoons in Boone, NC watching the team play.
