Our family lives in the St. Croix Valley outside of Stillwater. We enjoy living in this beautiful area and try to walk along the river or through Stillwater at least once a week. I enjoy running on the trails of the four state parks that are within one hour of our house.

I enjoy the charm of small town Stillwater, and especially being able to work in a historic building on the National Register of Historic Places in the Birthplace of Minnesota, located at 226 Myrtle Street East.  Built in 1878, the 2-story brick home served as the medical office for one of Minnesota's first doctors, Dr. Willis Horton Pratt.  For many years Dr. Pratt was in practice with Dr. T. C. Clark.  Later the building served as the medical office of Dr. Henry Van Meier for many years.  Stillwater is known for its proximity to the Wild and Scenic St. Croix River and is a popular tourist desitnation for it natural beauty and many boutique shops, restaurants, book stores, bed and breakfast historic homes and antique stores. It  has been the home of such famous people as actress Jessica Lange, actor and writer Sam Shepard, romance novelist LaVyrle Spencer, and Minnesota Twins World Series pitcher Jack Morris, among others.  The town has been used as film locations in the following movies:
