Who are you?Hi, my name is Scott Simmons. I was born and raised in South Florida. Before joining the Rossen Law Firm I was an Assistant Public Defender in Broward County. As an Assistant Public Defender I handled thousands of cases, ranging from Armed Carjacking to operating without a valid driver's license. No matter the case I fought for my clients to the best of my ability to help them get the best outcome possible for their specific situation.. Where did you go to school?I graduated cum laude from Florida Atlantic University where I received my Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice.I received my juris doctorate degree, cum laude, from Nova Southeastern University - Shepard Broad College of Law. While in law school I won the largest Moot Court Criminal Procedure Competition in the Nation, competed in several other National Trial Competition, was on the Dean’s List five out of six semesters, received the highest grade in my trial advocacy class and was inducted into the Order of Barristers - a national society for excellence in Courtroom advocacy.Why did you become a lawyer?To help people. I spent my childhood seeing what happens to those who do not have someone to advocate for them and how it can negatively impact their lives. I have spent my entire legal career to be the one who has the knowledge, skills, and passion to fight for others..
