I am native Washingtonian, who grew up in Seattle.  In 1994 I earned two Bachelor of Arts degrees from the University of Washington, one in Political Science and the other in Speech Communication.  After a brief stint in California where I began Law School at Whittier Law School I returned to Seattle University School of Law and graduated cum laude with my Juris Doctorate in 1998.   I was admitted to the Washington State Bar Association in October of 1998 and was admitted for practice into Federal Court for the Western District in 2002.. I began working with David Vail & Associates in 1997 as an intern and was hired on as an associate attorney in 1998.  In 2005 I made partner and have remained determined to perpetuate the work begun by David, represeting injured Washingtonian's and ensuring they recieve the benefits they are entitled to under the law. I specialize in L&I (Workers Compensation) cases as well as personal injury cases. I spend most of my time at the Board of Industrial Insurance Appeals litigating complex pension cases and from time to time I get involved in questioning the law set forth in Title 51.

I am a trial lawyer committed to helping individuals and their families reclaim their lives after losing a loved one or suffering injury because of the negligence of others. I began my legal career working as a defense attorney for an insurance company. Through taking cases to trial and countless arbitrations, I saw first-hand how insurance companies can quickly lose sight of the human aspect of injury and insurance claims, viewing cases merely as business concerns to be settled cheaply or hard-fought, regardless of cost. Later in my career, I defended insurance companies in bad faith litigation. Currently, I represent injury victims in personal injury, traumatic brain injury, insurance bad faith, medical malpractice, medical device defect, and product liability cases.. Prior to entering law school, I worked as a property and casualty claims adjuster for two national insurers, handling wildfire and mudslide catastrophe claims in California, as well as mid to large loss claims arising from hurricanes in the Southern U.S.. My experience both as a claims adjuster and lawyer taught me that in order to obtain the best settlement, you have to show the insurance company and/or the defense you are willing and prepared to take the case to trial. For this reason, I prepare every case as if it is going to trial from day one.

Gina Buskirk was born and raised in Washington. As a daughter from a blue collar Boeing family, she set her sights on being the first woman in her family to graduate from college. She worked her way through college earning her J.D. from Seattle University where she graduated Cum Laude in 2000.. After passing the bar, Gina focused on civil litigation and juvenile criminal defense. In 2002, she was recruited to become a prosecutor and became well-known in the legal community for her ability to effectively manage and litigate a wide variety of cases in courts throughout Kitsap County. While assigned to the Juvenile division, she handled misdemeanor and felony crimes including Vehicular Assault, Burglary, and sex offenses. She was eventually promoted to the position of Senior Prosecutor of the District/Municipal Court Division where she supervised all misdemeanor criminal offenses for Kitsap County, Bremerton, Poulsbo, Port Orchard, and Bainbridge Island and was responsible for training officers in all jurisdictions of Kitsap County. She continually honed her trial skills on the highest priority matters for her division: DUI and Domestic Violence cases.. In 2009, the city of Bremerton recruited Gina to become the City of Bremerton Prosecutor. She was tasked with creation of the criminal division. She recruited, mentored and trained new attorneys, advised law enforcement, set all plea & negotiation standards, and prosecuted all civil matters and crimes in municipal court including infractions, bench trials, and jury trials.. As a former prosecutor, Gina spent nearly two decades training law enforcement officers in effective report writing techniques, courtroom testimony preparation, infraction investigations, criminal law updates, vehicle and animal impounds, evidence seizure/forfeiture, domestic violence, DUI BAC/blood testing, and search and seizure. She was also responsible for being on call to assist with search warrants and to answer urgent legal questions in the midst of ongoing criminal investigations. Her depth of experience resulted in her being invited to become an advanced DUI law enforcement instructor. In 2013, Gina began teaching law enforcement certification courses for “Advanced Roadside Impaired Driving Enforcement” (ARIDE). She was also added as a law enforcement instructor for statewide “Drug Recognition Expert” (DRE) certification programs. Over the course of her career, Gina has trained 100s of officers throughout Washington on critical issues in criminal investigations and complex alcohol and drug DUI issues.. As a guest speaker for Washington State Bar Association approved legal seminars, Gina has lectured before the Washington Association of Prosecuting Attorneys on “Manifest Injustice Sentencing of Juveniles" and was guest lecturer before the Washington State Association of Municipal Attorneys, teaching professional ethics in “Crossing the finish line, Making Your Case & Avoiding the Pitfalls of Misconduct.” Gina has also served as a Judge Pro Tem for Bremerton and Port Orchard Municipal Courts, presiding over numerous civil and criminal cases and jury trial.. Gina has handled thousands of criminal cases and has been honored as a YWCA Woman of Achievement and a “40 Under 40” Emerging Leader for her success in the legal profession and her commitment to community service.. Bill is a native of Tacoma, Washington, having attended elementary through High School and graduating from Wilson High School in 1968.. He served in the U.S. Army and while there began his legal career. He supervised a brigade legal section supporting commanding officers in their judicial and administrative duties under the Uniform Code of Military Justice and administrative regulations.Upon his return, he completed his undergraduate work at the University of Washington. In 1975 he received his B.A. in history and political science.In 1978 he received his Juris Doctorate degree at the University of Puget Sound School of Law.
