On the first day of law school, they asked why were there. I replied that "I've always wanted to find out what was behind the wizard's curtain." Since that day, I have continued in my pursuit of knowledge and have been fascinated to learn that the law is an ever changing thing. It is shaped and molded by those that study and apply it. My first passion is being in the court room. I understand that listening to my cleints and being their voice is my main job as an advocate for the rights of my clients. Jennifer earned her undergraduate degree from Alma College, where she graduated Suma Cum Laude. Jennifer graduated Suma Cum Laude, in the top ten percent of her class, from Michigan State University College of Law in May of 2011. While in law school Jennifer participated in the Moot Court Trial and Advocacy Board as well as the Trial Practice Institute Certificate Program. In addition, Jennifer earned recognition as the top oralist in the first year oral advocacy competition.. After law school, Jennifer gained significant experience at a large law firm as a litigator, practicing primarily in the areas of family law and workers compensation. Prior to making Traverse City her home, Jennifer worked as an Assistant Prosecutor in Ingham County, MI. As an Assistant Prosecutor, Jennifer advanced her trial skills by managing a busy district court docket, handling misdemeanor trials and felony preliminary examinations.. Jennifer’s current practice includes both civil and criminal work. Jennifer understands the foreign, stressful, and emotional nature of being embroiled in the legal process and provides a compassionate presence while passionately advocating for her client’s interests.. A graduate of the University of Colorado at Boulder, James Saffell earned his law degree at the University of Denver College of Law in 1986. Mr. Saffell earned membership to the University of Denver Law Review and the National Moot Court Team for the New York Bar Association National Moot Court Competition, where he was awarded the distinction of *2nd Best Speaker* at the Western Regional Competition.
