I have an active land use practice representing developers and landowners before local boards and commissions and in land use appeals in the trial and appellate courts of the State of Connecticut. I also have extensive experience with commercial and residential financing, title matters and general real estate matters.

I practice law in the areas of Estate Planning, Elder Law, Probate Administration, Business and Taxation.  I received my Law Degree as well as a Masters in Law in Estate Planning and Elder Law from Western New England College School of Law.  I am also Certified Public Accountant and spent six years in the practice of public accounting on behalf of individuals and small businesses.  I am active in numerous professional and civic organizations and a frequent lecturer on Estate planning, Elder Law and Probate matters.

Attorney Spurling has counseled clients and represented clients in courts for 23 years and is admitted to practice before the Federal Courts of Connecticut and state courts of Connecticut and Massachusetts. He has an active practice with an emphasis on business and real estate transactions while having performed legal work for more than 100 financial institutions, including Fortune 500 companies. Attorney Spurling has represented businesses in formation, acquisitions, sales and litigation.. He also has been a professor of law at a flagship university since 2003 teaching business law and real estate law.   His legal experience coupled with his teaching experience allows him to bring anectodal experiences into his client relationships.  Attorney Spurling is a co-recipient of a teaching excellence award, and has been recognized numerous times by the University Provost for teaching excellence.
