Our firm represents only plaintiffs, not defendants. We never represent insurance companies. We work exclusively on a contingent basis, meaning we are only paid if we successfully recover for our clients.. Our practice is currently focussed on assisting those suffering injuries caused by defective hernia mesh products; farmers, groundskeepers, landscapers, gardeners, pesticide applicators and others who allege they developed Non-Hodgkin lymphoma after frequent use of the weedkiller Roundup; and victims of sexual abuse. We also represent plaintiffs in matters involving motor vehicle accidents, medical malpractice, slip-and-fall, aviation and maritime accidents, wrongful death, and other personal injury cases. We operate throughout the country, as we have long-established co-counsel relationships with leading firms located in nearly every state.. As a plaintiff trial attorney, Tom Young has been at the forefront of some of the Nation's worst disasters, including assisting those affected by the 2010 BP Deepwater Horizon blowout and oil spill. In addition to his work at the Supreme Court, Tom represented hundreds of individuals, businesses and governmental entities against BP, and he has been successful in recovering tens of millions of dollars for these clients, both through the Court Supervised Settlement Program and in MDL-2179.. In late 2015 Tom was appointed by a federal magistrate judge to represent over 200,000 plaintiffs in an allocation proceeding involving a $1.24 billion settlement with Deepwater Horizon contractor Halliburton and rig owner Transocean. There he secured over $300 million for class clients.. More recently Tom was retained by Hillsborough County, Florida to pursue losses associated with Volkswagen's fraudulent emissions cover-up scheme. He also represents Hillsborough County, the City of Tampa, the City of Miami, the City of Tucson and several other large cities and counties across the country seeking to recover damages from opioid manufacturers and distributors.. Tom and his team have a comprehensive understanding of the Oil Pollution Act of 1990, the Clean Water Act, the Clean Air Act, federal and state unfair trade practices laws, and other environmental legislation and regulatory schemes. I've spent 36 years representing clients before the FCC, federal and state courts. In 2003 I joined with several other DC residents to vindicate our right to keep and bear functional firearms for self-protection. Since that time I have become deeply immersed in federal and state law regulating firearms and self-defense. I became an NRA handgun instructor and was certified by the Maryland State Police to teach concealed carry applicants in Maryland.. In 2008 the United States Supreme Court vindicated our rights in the landmark DC v. Heller case. I then joined with several other DC residents to sue DC for the right to carry a firearm for personal protection. In July of 2014 the Federal District Court enjoined DC's prohibition on carrying firearms for personal protection. That case led to the first issuance of concealed carry licenses in DC since 1976. I was one of the first persons certified by the District of Columbia Police Department to teach concealed carry applicants and have taught approximately one-half of the persons who have been granted carry licenses in the District.. In May of 2015, I joined the law firm of Bergstrom & Taylor to continue to advocate for the rights of gun owners.

After graduating from Ole Miss and then Cumberland School of Law at Samford University and passing the bar exam, I practiced law for over three years at a large, national law firm in Birmingham, Alabama. I then transitioned into a more corporate legal job in Washington, DC at a global publishing company where I worked as a legal editor writing and editing legal articles.. While working as a legal editor, to scratch my own creative itch, I launched a style and travel blog, Cobalt Chronicles. As I dove deeper into the blogging world and began to meet creatives in different fields (photographers, graphic designers, event planners etc.), I realized there was a hole in a lot of my peers’ businesses - they weren’t utilizing contracts to protect themselves and their businesses.. With my background in the blogging world and my legal expertise, I launched my Contracts for Creatives business, which is where you’ve landed!. My goal is to make your life easier by providing you with easy-to-use contract templates or a custom contract for a specific collaboration, campaign, or business relationship.. I also assist in business registration and with intellectual property issues.
