Jonathan Veres is an Associate Attorney for Gaydos Law, P.C. and his practice focuses on Family Law, Criminal Defense, Wills & Estates. Attorney Veres has experience helping clients with divorce, custody, child support and any matter concerning the family courts. He also handles everything in the criminal courts from serious felony and misdemeanor charges to traffic violations and summary offenses.. Prior to joining Gaydos Law, Attorney Veres worked with Neighborhood Legal Services in Pittsburgh where he expunged criminal records for low-income clients to open up employment and housing opportunities for them. When representing criminal defense clients, Jonathan relies on his work in Expungement Law to keep his clients’ futures in mind, and their records clean – well past any plea deals. This is in line with the founding principle of Joe Pometto Law: People Come First.. Attorney Veres attended Duquesne University School of Law, where he won the prestigious Court Call Award for his competition on the school’s rigorous Appellate Moot Court Board. There, he and his moot court team bested forty other teams to win the National Championship in the Robert F. Wagner Labor & Employment Law Moot Court Competition. At that same competition, Jonathan won Best Preliminary Round Petitioner Oralist, and his team won Best Petitioner Brief. He has since returned as an Appellate Moot Court Board coach to pass on the guidance he received in the program to current Duquesne Law students.. In his spare time, Jonathan trains in Judo, a Japanese martial art focusing on throwing, grappling, and competition. A first-degree black belt, or Shodan, Jonathan dedicates most of his spare time to teaching and training new students and children in the martial art he loves. He’s trained and competed in Judo for almost a decade, and currently trains under Master Christopher Moore, a Fifth Degree black belt (Godan), and Kyoshi Ron Pardini, a Seventh Degree black belt (Shichidan).
