She graduated from Yale University in 1978 and from the University of Connecticut School of Law in 1986.. She is an author, along with Robert Carter, Jason Dodge, Jim Pomeranz and Lucas Strunk, of Connecticut Workers’ Compensation Law, a legal treatise. She also authored Injured on the Job, a handbook for injured workers and union representatives.. Donna is a Fellow of the College of Workers’ Compensation Lawyers, a national organization of pre-eminent workers' compensation attorneys, and serves on the Chairman’s Legal Advisory Committee to the Connecticut Workers’ Compensation Commission. She has been Editor-in-Chief of Compensation Quarterly, a magazine for Connecticut workers’ compensation practitioners, and is currently a member of its Editorial Board..
