I transitioned to divorce and family law after 15+ years working in accounting and operations for start-up technology companies. I strongly believe lawyers overlook the client experience and often force clients to work their way instead of the best way for the client. I try to look at everything from the client's perspective and try to make things as easy as possible for them.. I am a firm believer that the best way to resolve disputes is through direct communication with the other party. The court system should be the last resort, and I have no problem advising clients that they are better off handling an issue themselves if practical. I am an associate attorney at Schwartz & Plante.. I received my B.A. from Boston University in 2007, and her J.D. from Western New England College School of Law in 2010. While in law school, I served on the executive board of the Family Law Association as the Treasurer and Community Outreach Coordinator and served as a student member of the Faculty-Student Admissions Committee.. Prior to and upon admission to the bar in 2011, I gained first-hand experience in the area of domestic relations and family law, by working first as a paralegal and subsequently as an associate attorney at the Law Office of Russell P. Schwartz. Thereafter, I advanced my litigation skills by working in the areas of personal injury law, labor relations, family law and civil litigation while working as an associate attorney in a local civil litigation practice in Worcester, Massachusetts. I participated in contested motion hearings as well as in multi-day trials in the Massachusetts District, Probate and Family, and Superior Courts. Additionally, I represented clients in contested arbitrations and mediations. She was admitted to the United States District Court for the District of Massachusetts in April 2018.. In January 2019, I returned to Schwartz & Plante (formerly the Law Office of Russell P. Schwartz) as an Associate Attorney where I practice in all areas of Domestic Relations, including, but not limited to divorce, child custody, modifications and contempt matters.

For the last 13 years I have represented individuals in all aspects of family law.  Additionally, I am regularly appointed by the Justices of the Probate and Family Court to serve in the capacities of Guardian Ad Litem, Trustee, Attorney for Child (ARC Counsel), Special Master, Discovery Master , Arbitrator (for binding arbitration) and Conciliator.. The course of my representation includes Pre-nuptial agreements, contested and un-contested divorce actions, contempt actions, modification actions as well as mediations. Within the course of those actions, I have handled numerous contensted custody, child support, adoption and other family law related matters.  I have tried numerous cases and briefed and argued numerous cases before the appellate courts of Massachusetts.. Additionally, my practice includes representation of persons before the appellate courts of Massachusetts, having represented parties before the Supreme Judicial Court of Massachusetts and the Massachusetts Appeals Court.. Finally, I represented students and families in education law related matters, including, disciplinary hearings, IEP and 504 meetings, and other matters involving education law.. I have participate regularly in continuing legal education seminars, and have additionally taught such seminars, including, "Introduction to Divorce" and "Year in Review" (annual review of appellate case law related to family law) and "Trial skills".  I have previously served as a Judge for the Massachusetts Bar Association Mock Trial Competition and have served previously as the Mock Trial Coach for South High in Worcester, Ma.. I am a proud graduate of the Worcester Public Schools, Worcester State University and Western New England University School of Law, where I was twice awarded the "Best Oralist" award. I was selected to participate in the national environmental moot court competition, where I was a semi-finalist..
