I was born in Cleveland Ohio, but raised in Naples, FL. While in college, I was in the Air Force ROTC program and, after graduation, I was commissioned as a 2nd Lieutenant in the Air Force. While on active duty, I completed my masters degree in international relations.. After 4 1/2 years, I separated with an Honorable Discharge and was awarded the Air Force Commendation Medal.. I then took a job in Orlando supervising the residential construction process of some pretty amazing houses for David Weekley Homes. My first community was Baldwin Park. Anyone familiar with Orlando knows that Baldwin Park was a Navy base which was demolished around 2000. It was then sold to a developer and is now a beautiful master-plan community.. As I was always curious about law school, I took my LSAT in the fall of 2006 and applied to Georgia State's College of Law and was accepted to start in the fall of 2007. Going back to being a broke college student at age 31 was not an easy transition. So, I took an overload of classes for 3 straight semesters so I could graduate an entire semester ahead of my peers. After graduating in December 2009, I took the bar exam in February 2010, and received my results in May 2010 and began working at David West & Associates shortly thereafter.. While with David, my eyes were opened to how calloused and unjust our criminal "justice" system usually is. Law enforcement is usually rewarded and promoted based on arrests made and citations issued. Prosecutors are rewarded and promoted based on conviction percentages. As such, they usually don't care if the accused is guilty or not. Furthermore, judges are re-elected for being "tough on crime". To make matters worse, most criminal defense lawyers care far more about the money than they do their clients.. In April 2012, I decided it was time to learn the civil side of the law. Since that time, I have specialized in personal injury cases mainly stemming from auto accidents and injuries sustained on common carriers. I also now have experience defending Eight Amendment excessive force cases as well as other Civil Rights cases. I have also been on the other side of the table as our firm does take plaintiff cases in many of these areas.

My recent results include $2,700,000 in a product liability-legal malpractice case, $950, wrongful death case, and $217, in a rear-end accident (prior attorney received offer of $12,.). I am a one-man law firm that gets big firm results, and I give personal one-on-one services to clients unlike other personal injury firms that use non attorney proudly have a 98.5 % success rate!
I am wired to help. I am passionate about justice and making things right. Those qualities made the law a natural choice for me, even though women traditionally had not been well-represented in the legal profession before I began law school in the 1970's.. Over the years, I've helped hundreds - perhaps more than a thousand - people whose lives were changed because someone was careless - driving a truck or car, refusing to fix a potentially dangerous condition, or providing medical care. Some of those clients have become friends; many have written to thank me for the support I provided while I was handling their lawsuit.. In addition to my professional work, I am actively involved in community service, where most of what I do helps children and the disabled. Having represented dozens of children with serious birth injuries, I have a unique understanding of the challenges facing them and their families. Through my legal work, I can often make life easier by securing for my clients the financial resources needed to provide optimum care to a child with cerebral palsy or other serious injuries.. Through my community service work, which includes an annual equestrian event for "special" athletes, I help give these children a chance to shine and their families a day to celebrate their special children. It is my favorite day of the year.. In addition to years of experience, I've earned the respect of my peers and those against whom I litigate. I'm proud to have a reputation for excellence, empathy and tenacity when fighting on behalf of my clients. An attorney who is well-respected and whom the other side knows is capable of taking a worthy case to trial and getting a good verdict, is one who has an easier time resolving cases for the people she represents.. I am a wife and mother, as well as a lawyer, and I think that experience is valuable to who I am and what I do professionally.. I look forward to helping you, should the need arise and hope you will keep me in mind when friends or family need an advocate to make things right.

“My experience as a nurse and being in a serious motorcycle accident led me to an understanding of how important it is to obtain appropriate and timely medical care to promote recovery. My accident led me to a career as an attorney and since my admission to the bar in 1989 I have always focused in the field of personal injury.”. It was Michael’s contact with the legal system and a desire to help others who have gone through the unexpected and life changing experiences of a personal injury accident that led him to attend law school and assist other accident victims.. Since then, he has utilized his nursing degree and nursing experience to assist people who have been injured through the negligence of others. Michael has worked as a litigation attorney his entire practice and has actively tried cases in Michigan since 1989. He has achieved several million dollar verdicts and settlements, which include a $2.1M verdict in a surgical malpractice case, $5.5M verdict in a psychiatric malpractice case, $1.2M award in a legal malpractice case.
