She graduated from American University Washington College of Law in Washington D.C. and received the American University Juris Doctor Distinguished Fellowship. During her time in D.C., she interned with Amnesty International, served as a law clerk with the United States Agency for International Development, and assisted asylum seekers appearing before the Baltimore Immigration Court and United States Immigration and Citizenship Services..
