Attorney Jordana Kershner graduated from Tulane University in 2005 cum laude and, after interning in Congress and working as a litigation paralegal at the Washington D.C. firm now known as Cohen, Milstein, Sellers & Toll, PLLC, went on to receive her J.D. from Boston University School of Law in 2011 cum laude. While at Boston University, Ms. Kershner was the Editor-in-Chief of the American Journal of Law & Medicine and interned at the Special Litigation Department of the Connecticut Office of the Attorney General, as well as for the Honorable Dominic J. Squatrito, District Court Judge for the District of Connecticut. Beth established her current law practice in Newtonville, MA in 2001.  While her career is focused in law, her social work background has informed her connection with clients, child-focused family law work, and ability to finesse complex family dynamics. In addition to her solo practice, Beth became Of Counsel to the firm of Skylark Law & Mediation, P.C. in Framingham, Massachusetts in 2013, where she handles estate planning, probate, and family law matters.. My family and I moved to the Daytona Beach area when I was three years old.  I have spent the rest of my life living and loving this area.  I am a proud alumn of Tomoka Elementary, Ormond Beach Middle School and Seabreeze High School.  While attending Seabreeze High School I excelled in the classroom and athletics.  I was also chosen to enter the schools prestigious Wall of Fame as graduation.  I was able to balance my academics just as well and received an academic scholarship to attend Florida State University.. While attending Florida State University I was recognized for my academic achievement and was on the Dean’s list.  I was able to balance the academics rigors while maintaining a job, completing four separate internships and working at the campus radio station and television station.  I applied and was able to enter in the highly sought after school of Communictations and graduated with a degree in Mass Media Studies in 2003.. I have always believed in the idea of fairness and equality for all people.  Those ideals are what lead me to attend Florida Coastal School of Law, where I received an academic scholarship.  I was also recognized for academic achievement and was on the Dean’s List.  After achieving proficiency in the area of Family Law, I was awarded with a Certificate in the Family Law Program.. While attending law school I was chosen for an internship at the State Attorney’s Office in Daytona Beach.  I graduated law school in the Spring of 2010, passed the Florida Bar Exam on the first time and then was hired as an Assistant State Attorney less than a week later.. As an Assistant State Attorney I handled cases in Juvenile Court, Misdemeanor Court and Felony Court.  I have made decisions on thousands of cases including those punishable by life.  Many of the cases I handled were complex, including but not limited to attempted murder, white collar/fraud, sexual battery, vehicular homicide, human trafficking, and DUI with serious bodily harm.   I took my job very seriously and had to make tough decisions that would not just affect the lives those I was prosecuting, but also the victim, witnesses and all of their families.  No case was the same as others as no individuals are all the same.  You have to have a critical mind and be able to decipher what is just and right for all those involved.. After handling thousands of cases, learning the law and having an extensive amount of trials and hearings, I decided it was time to practice in an area of law that I concentrated on in law school: Family Law.  I worked for a large Florida wide family law firm.  While working for that firm, all I did was handle family law cases.  Being able to concentrate and focus all of my attention on one area of law, I was able to develop an expertise in the field.  An expert and someone with vast experience is who you need to guide you and your family through such difficult times.. After serving our country in the U.S. Air Force, I attended the nation's olderst law school - The College of William and Mary School of Law. I chose William and Mary because of its strong national  reputation, and its committment to training citizen lawyers - lawyers who are committed to the communities they serve.
