My passion for such representation stems from my experience of seeing innocent people convicted of crimes because the criminal justice system failed them. Such failures devastate the person wrongfully convicted and his or her love ones as well. I always zealously advocate for my clients to address flaws in the system so that judges and juries understand that a charge does not always mean guilt.. My experience includes representing clients in numerous first offense driving under the influence (DUI), second offense DUI, or felony DUI cases with positive results, including dismissals, non-adjudications, and other resolutions that were substantially less than the penalties allowed by law. Additionally, I have successfully represented many other clients charged with drug possession, drug sales, murder, rape and sexual battery, aggravated assault, embezzlement and fraud.. Lisa brings almost a decade of criminal defense litigation experience to the firm’s team.  She has spent the much of her career in a courtroom and advocates for and works to protect her client’s constitutional rights.  Lisa has partnered with Sean, a member of our team, on several complex criminal defense cases and teamed with Alexandria, another firm member, to work on challenging family law issues and involved family law legal proceedings.. After law school Lisa went into private practice in southern Idaho; while with her firm, Lisa practiced criminal defense law.  After a couple of years, she strategically chose to expand her legal acumen, and in 2009 Lisa became a prosecutor in North Idaho.  However, as a serious advocate for due process rights, Lisa returned to criminal defense work and became a public defender for a well-regarded public defender’s offices in the State of Idaho, the Kootenai County Public Defender’s Office.  This position required Lisa to spend an extensive amount of time in a courtroom trying both   misdemeanor and felony cases; thus, the courtroom has become a comfortable arena for her while also exponentially increasing her litigation skills.. In 2016 Lisa brought her years of experience back to the private sector and today litigates both misdemeanor and felony cases.  She has also extended her negotiation and trial skills to family law clients.  She is a valuable member of our team and is focused on our clients’ needs..
