Background: As the son of two Immigrants from Jalisco, Mexico, immigration has always been of particular interest to Carlos.  He was born and raised in southern California in a traditional Catholic family where he helped to support his family by working alongside them in his family’s gardening business. From a young age he was introduced to the concept of immigration law when he learned that many of his family members could not cross between the United States and Mexico as easily as he could.
