I am a 28+ year resident of Will County, Illinois.  I am married and have a daughter attending Temple University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.  My twin sons both attend Joliet West High School in Joliet, Illinois. I am a member and former President of the Will County Bar Association, and have been the managing partner of McNamara Phelan McSteen, LLC since its inception in 2005.  I am also a member of the Board of Trustees for Joliet Montessori School.. A former high school and college varsity athlete, I now restrict my athletic endeavors to bicycling and watching my kids compete in soccer and track and field.. John Spesia is a lifelong resident of Will County. He graduated from the University of Denver Law School with high academic honors as a member of the Order of St. Ives. Upon graduation, Spesia was selected to serve as a Law Clerk to a Federal District Judge in Chicago, where he had hands-on training in Federal Court procedures and trial matters.. Spesia also recovered over $1.1 million for a motorcycle passenger severely injured in a collision. In addition, he  recovered over $1 million for a 40-year-old victim of medical malpractice and won a $700,000 jury verdict in another medical negligence case.. Spesia has briefed and argued cases in the Second, Third, Fourth and Fifth District Appellate Courts and twice argued landmark cases in the Illinois Supreme Court, including a recent case in 2009 that resulted in a recovery of over $900,000. Along with Kent Slater, a retired Justice of the Third District Appellate Court, Spesia has won multiple appeals in the Third District Appellate Court..
