I obtained a B.S. from Florida Southern College in 2001 where I was an active member in the Sigma Chi Fraternity. I obtained my Juris Doctorate at Nova Southeastern University in 2005.  I was sworn in as a Florida attorney in October of 2005.. I began my career doing class action litigation with The Lamb Firm, LLC, a Birmingham, Alabama firm. I was in the Lamb Firm's Coral Gables office.  In April of 2006 I accepted a position with the Carlton Law Firm, focusing on cases involving serious injury, wrongful death, insurance claims, and civil litigation.. I was an associate attorney with the Carlton Law Firm for 5 1/2 years until leaving to open my own practice, Hancock Law, P.A., in August of 2011.  I returned "home" to the Carlton Law Firm to take over as managing partner in 2012 when we became Carlton & Hancock. In 2014 Mr. Carlton retired and we changed our name to Hancock Law, P.A.

The infant’s mother was admitted to a local hospital with irregular contractions and spontaneous rupture of membranes for a vaginal birth after C-Section (VBAC). After approximately 15+ hours of labor, the obstetrician decided to perform a repeat C-Section because of a lack of progress in the labor. The Plaintiffs did not claim that the trial of VBAC labor was contraindicated. Rather, the plaintiffs contended that the fetal monitoring strips were indicative of fetal distress, requiring the earlier performance of an emergency C-Section. The infant mother’s uterus ruptured along the previous C-Section incision and the infant’s body extruded outside the uterus. The child was immediately transferred to another area hospital with diagnoses of asphyxia, anoxic seizure disorder and respiratory failure. The claim had been previously rejected by other plaintiffs’ counsel.. After graduating from Union College in New York (B.A. 1971) and the Boston University School of Law (J.D. 1975), Ken Berkowitz clerked for Judge Arnold Stein and then joined a commercial litigation firm in Newark.. Andrew A. Monteleone graduated from Fordham University School of Law in New York City in 1999.  Thereafter, he worked as an Assistant District Attorney in the Nassau County District Attorney's Office where he prosecuted numerous misdemeanor and felony charges ranging from DWI to Attempted Murder..
