An experienced pilot, Goldman has worked on all of Wisner Baum’s general aviation and airline disaster cases since joining the firm in 2003.. He is a board certified Civil Trial Advocate and Civil Pretrial Practice Advocate, certified by the National Board of Trial Advocacy. He is a former Judge Pro Tem, arbitrator, mediator, and adjunct professor of law at the Pepperdine University School of Law. He created the school’s aviation accident law course; for 21 years he taught courses in torts, aviation, and legal writing and analysis. His understanding of piloting and knowledge of aviation law make him a much sought out expert for major media, who have featured him in many TV, radio, and newspaper stories.. In the 1960’s, Goldman was involved in ground-breaking pharmaceutical litigation against the maker of a cholesterol-lowering drug, MER/29 (triparanol), that was estimated to have injured more than 5,000 individuals. The case helped pave the way for the mass tortdrug product liability litigation that takes place today. Goldman was also the lead negotiator in one of Wisner Baum’s most significant aviation litigation achievements. As part of the settlement in the January 8, 2003 Air Midwest Flight 5481 crash in Charlotte, NC, he won the agreement of the airline and maintenance company, in an organized ceremony, to deliver an unprecedented official public apology to the families for the crash..
