I have been engaged in private law practice in California since 1982, with an emphasis in the areas of estate and gift planning, tax planning, trust administration, probate, business and succession planning, and charitable giving. I completed two Ironman triathlons, which consist of a 2.4 mile swim, 112 mile bike ride and a 26.2 mile run, and other triathlons, including the California Half Ironman, Big Kahuna Triathlon, Carlsbad Triathlon, the 5430 Triathlon (in Boulder, Colorado) and the Nautica Malibu Triathlon.. I co-founded Team Tisser Foundation (TTF), a non-profit corporation, which raises money for charitable causes. I raise money through athletic training and racing. Through TTF, I have raised over $250,000 in donations for various charities, including the Aubrey Fund for Pediatric Cancer Research at Memoria lSloan-Kettering Cancer Center, the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, and Challenged Athletes Foundation. Donald P. Madsen was born and raised in Northern California, and Southern Oregon. He absolutley loves serving his clients Estate Planning, Probate, and Conservatorship needs. He especially loves working with his Spanish speaking clients.  He has been a speaker in the past few years at the Fiesta Educativa, a non-profit educational program put on each year for Spanish Speaking parents that have children with disabilities.  He conducts his presentation on Conservatorships in Spanish.  He lived in Guatemala, Central America, for two years where he learned to speak Spanish (se habla Español).. In 1989 he attended Brigham Young University where he played baseball before deciding to dedicate himself to the study of Sociology and Law.  He graduated with a Bachelor’s in science in Sociology in 1994.. Don attended McGeorge School of Law, University of the Pacific, while working as a law clerk for local attorneys.  He graduated in 1999 where he was recognized by the Sacramento County Estate Planning Council for his achievements.. In 2002 Don began his sole proprietor firm.  His focus then, as it is now, is on Estate Planning, including Wills, Trusts, Trust Administration, Conservatorships, and Probate. He is a member of the California Bar Association and the Sacramento County Bar Association.  He recently joined long time friend and college Richard Sopp to form WHEATLEY, SOPP AND MADSEN, LLP.. Don’s passions outside of the office include coaching his four children in youth sports. He has coached youth basketball, baseball and football for several years.  When he finds time for himself, he enjoys spending time with his family, playing Golf, and Tennis.  You can often find Don and family hiking or mountain biking in the mountains of Northern California or Arizona where his dad lives.  Don also currently plays Tennis on various USTA teams, and golfs when time permits.
