Rob was born and raised in the San Francisco Bay Area. Rob began his legal career as a trial lawyer at his father's law firm of, Cartwright, Slobodin, Bokelman, Borowsky, Wartnick, Moore & Harris, Inc. He founded his own practice in 1996, and The Cartwright Law Firm, Inc., as it currently exists, has been together since 2001. Through out Rob's life he has been extremely athletic and adventurous. Rob is a former marathoner and accomplished tri-athlete that completed the Alcatraz Tri-Athelon and ran his best marathon in 2hrs 53min. Rob also was a Formula Ford and Formula Mazda race car driver, and set the track and qualifying record at Thunder Hill Race Track in Northern California (these records were never broken until the track was recently reconfigured). Additionally, Rob finished 2nd and 3rd in the SCCA Regional Championships in 1995 and 1996, respectively. Rob is also a motorcycle enthusiast and owns three Triumphs.
