Eric Goodman is the managing partner of the Goodman Mooney, a firm specializing in intellectual property law and related business matters. Eric is published in the Journal of Art and Entertainment Law, as author of A National Identity Crisis: The Need For A Federal Right Of Publicity Statute. Capitalizing on his technical background and experience in brand development, he was recruited by pioneer sports agent Leigh Steinberg to help launch an online forum for fans to interact with professional athletes as part of a joint venture with AOL. Eric also worked with Jeff Moorad (owner of the San Diego Padres) in securing internet domain names and protecting the right of publicity of professional athletes.. His practice currently focuses on trademarks, copyrights, trade dress, trade secrets, unfair competition, false advertising and contract disputes for brand owners, manufacturers, retailers and distributors in the apparel, fashion, sports, entertainment, food services, finance and gift item industries. Eric is admitted to practice law in the State of California, the Federal Court for all districts of California, as well as the Federal Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit, and the Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit.. Eric teaches advanced courses in intellectual property as an adjunct professor at Whittier Law School where he has also acted as the interim director of the Center for Intellectual Property.
