He is admitted to practice before the federal Tenth Circuit Court of Appeals and the federal District Court for the District of Colorado.. James is also active in the local, legal community. He currently serves on the Executive Committee of the Colorado Chapter of the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA) and is the former Chair of the Colorado Bar Association's Immigration Law Section. James has been a speaker for Continuing Legal Education (CLE) Programs through both AILA and the Colorado Bar Association and has trained volunteers to assist noncitizens through a variety of workshops and other legal assistance programs.. James is fluent in Japanese and speaks some Spanish.
